Bearcat question

Anyone know much about a Bearcat? I saw one for sale, but it was a metal riser takedown. I didn't realize those were made.

The Minuteman and '76'ers were entry level takedowns with 76'ers coming out in the '73 catalog and Minuteman's in the '74 catalog.

In the '77 catalog the bows were still offered but the names were changed to Bearcat Takedown, 76'er Takedown Hunter, and the the Victor Tigercat.

The '78 catalog shows a Bearcat Takedown Hunter, Bearcat Takedown and Bear Target Takedown.

With prices for these usually under $150, they are pretty good bows but some complain about hand shock.  It's also pretty rare to find one over 40-45# or even in LH.  They make excellent bowfishing rigs.

Sorry, but I cannot remember when they quit making them.

Thanks for the reply. I spotted one and knew I didn't remember ever hearing of them. I don't know what the draw weight is on this one, but I may check.

According to George Coppen, "Bear Archery Traditional Bows" Standard Bearcat was made from 1964-1971
Bearcat Takedown offered from:
