For those painting limbs to refinish over , what type of paint can be used ? Is flat used ?

I use latex. I did a thread on here a couple of years ago explaining my process. I do not recall the thread title but it was about a 1961 Kodiak Special. I would go look for the thread but I am pressed for time at the moment.
