Bear 1960s Snap-on Bow Quiver
« on: October 18, 2017, 06:03:00 AM »
Does anyone have a diagram or photos on how this quiver mounts properly on the bow? It's the version with the two spring arms, one at top and bottom. No screw mounts. Thank you.

Thank you. I actually had one of these back in the '60s but I couldn't remember for sure how it went on. This looks like an old Bear advertising photo, so I'll assume they knew. Thanks again!

I've had one of these kicking around for awhile...
So, I figured why not...?? I dusted off an old 43# 1969 Grizzly and put it on. Took a little work & wiggling to get it to sit "just right" as usual... Hmmm, pretty cool!!! I dug trough the arrow bucket, and found some white fletched 45-50# cedars, and loaded it up... Hmmm, NICE!!! So... I took it out back, and flung a few arrows at "Bucky the Button Buck"

Well, if "Bucky" was hide & hair, instead of foam, I'd have a tree full of venison! Lmao!!! Nice & quiet, no shake or rattle... So, I came back inside, dug some old green Razorheads out of the arrow box. Lit my propane torch, and swapped the field points for Razorheads... Then, I went out back and shot it again.....
I don't think I'll be christening my new Kodiak T/D this year!!!
I only shoot WOOD arrows... My kid makes them, fast as I can break them!

There is a fine line between Hunting, & Sitting there looking Stupid...

May The Great Spirit Guide Your Arrows..... Happy Hunting!!!

Woodchucker, somehow I missed your reply until now. Sounds like that old bow quiver was a near-religious experience for you. Good, I hope you bagged something with that Grizzly this year. The snap-on quiver I had back in the '60s was on a 1964 Grizzly. I bought them both new in '64. That was back when you wouldn't even think of drilling holes in your good hunting bow. Your friends would stop talking to you if you did. I'm using this one on a '68 Grizzly and a '70 Kodiak Hunter. I like it better on the Grizz. It seems to make the Kodiak feel a little heavy and awkward.
