Pray for Leon Scott
« on: July 22, 2006, 10:09:00 AM »
Leon has suffered several heart attacks in New Bern, North Carolina, while teaching a summer seminar for teenagers taking the SAT.  He is having emergency catheterization surgery as I write this.  His family is with him.  Please pray.  For those of you who do not know Leon, he is an avid hunter, sportsman, and friend to many people in the outdoor world.

GOOD NEWS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  Leon is off of the respirator.  He is alert and recognized the family.  He squeezed Barbara's(his wife) hand and puckered up for a kiss.  Barbara wondered if he was puckering up for her or the pretty nurse.  More updates as we hear.

Good News!!!!  Leon is continuing to improve greatly.  He has been moved out of CCU and into an intermediate care room.  If everything continues well, the family will possibly be able to move him home next week.  The family asks that you continue the prayers.  They are working miracles.  They are seeing the miracles everyday.  He still has to rest and be quiet a lot.  More after the next email from his family.  The family has asked for everyone to communicate with them through emails.

GOOD NEWS AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Leon is home in Atlanta as of this afternoon, Saturday.  He called and left us a message himself.  He is very tired and weak, but glad to be home.  He asked Molly and me to call him tomorrow as he is wiped out for now.  We will post as soon as we end the call.  Prayers really do work.  Thanks to everyone who has helped.

WOW! We are so thankful that he is back home. I know his family is too.
Look forward to hearing how he is doing after you talk with him further.
Wish he could go to the banquet.....

Just talked to Leon his own self this morning (Sunday 9:45am) and he sounded very good.  He is recovering very well and seems to be in good spirits.  He is very grateful for all of the thoughts and prayers that everyone extended on his behalf.  Please limit the length of phone calls and visits for a few days until he gets stronger.  He said it will be a while before he will be able to pull a bow back, and I told him that Frank Rago said it would be a good excuse to use a crossbow!  Oh gosh, another controversy!  Just kidding.  The good news has me giddy.

Two things Dan... 1)what encouragement to read these words when some walls lean in on my end and 2) what a good friend Leon has in you, his friend.

I've watched so many miracles reported here that have no explanation but the Grace of God.

Thank you, Jesus, for your love and interecession with the Father on our behalf.
