More prayers for my daughter
« on: September 21, 2006, 09:36:00 AM »
Received an email from my ex last night. Here a bits of it.
"Unfortunately, Gena had another incident Sunday nite and missed curfew at Restored Hope.  They did a UA on her and it tested positive so she has been asked to leave the program.  She has to be out of her place by the end of October.  She's lost unsupervised visits with Maya and the social workers feel the courts will remove Gracie although Gena doesn't think that will happen."
My daughter is bipolar and before they figured out that she had learned to use drugs and alcohol to dal with the depression whick of course just added to the mound of problems. She tends to become suicidle during the lows and odds are that she will lose Gracie and that may cause her to consider that as a way out.
Also need prayers for my ex as she has done a great job of raising the oldest girl and has been asked if she would be able to take the youngest. She has some health problems of her own so she's stretched as it is. We are out of state so courts won't allow us to be foster parents. It's a huge load for her and with out God's guidence and help she won't be able to handle it.
Thanks everyone.

Received another email from my ex and my daughter didn't loose custody of her youngest but still has to be out of the recovery group appartment by the end of the month and she can't get a place to rent due to her bad record so prayer's still needed. I am looking into the posibility of her moving in with us but I don't know if the courts will let her move out of state. So request prayers for God's wisdom and guidence through this.

Galen,

You've got the prayers for sure and many to follow from others!

Doesn't this recovery house have transition assistance to help released folks find housing?

Maybe the church can help?  Keep the Son in your eyes and the options will come from the least likely places.  Take time to be quiet in prayer and listen..one of the things I find hardest to do.

Lord, reach out to Galen's daughter and help her find direction and resources as she tries to redirect her life. Be with her and her family to guide them in Your Will and provide her the loving protection of your Holy Spirit.

Doc unfortunately the reason she's leaving is because she messed up got drunk and missed curfew and they've asked her to leave. This recovery house is run by one of the local churchs so maybe there's another one who will take her in. She is a stuborn one though.

Bless her heart..gotta lover her where she is, just like the Lord loves us where we are... all in a state of growth and change (hopefully.. especially in my case) :)

Help her help herself... Y'know the drill to not empower so with that said..."Prayers continue!"

My old boss, dealing with recurring drug addicts and habitual criminals said of their recovery, "They have to screw up, 3, 4 or even more times to realize what it takes to make the change real..!"

Gee... again sounds like me in other areas of my own spiritual growth. Thank God he doesn't give up on us!

Talked to my daughter last night. She's volunterily give up custody of her youngest girl and has is going to go to 30 day rehab. She was pretty broken up but it's possibly what she needs to really be ready to submit to Jesus. Really tore my heart up to listen to her but it's going to be great when Jesus has worked it out. Thanks again for your prayers.
