Dont know about your state but in most states if you get hurt on the job, workmans comp. has to pay for it, your company doesnt have a choice, tell them youll just talk to your lawyer. My company did the same thing and I told them I was talking to a lawyer and they called me and told me they would take care of it.

It's probably the same situation I had, I know that I got the hernia at work, but it didn't start to bother me until that weekend, I would have lost if I would have tryed to claim it happened at work. I ended up using my vacation and paying for the whole thing less what insurance covered, because I couldn't be dishonest and lie and wait until monday and stage the occurrance. On the friday before I was lifting bundles of conduit and I know thats what did it. The only difference was it wasn't 2 days til season, My prayers go out for you ratgunner. 20 years or 1 year with a company, these days they'll screw you to death.

Keep everything documented who you talk to what was said, dates every thing. If there doctor tells you to work and something goes sour i would think they would be at fault. Don't argue keep your nose clean bide your time. Don't give them that excuse to fire you. Good luck i hope it works out for you so you can still hunt.

Wow...big challenges mixed in there along with the medical issues.  Good advice above..Keep calm, Keep documentation.  Stay focused.  Sounds like the season is toasted with this injury anyway so now focus on the realities of getting well and keeping employed.

Prayers for peace, understanding, patience and a positive resolution to not only the health issues but to maintain your work situation.

Father God, we thank you that you are not a respecter of persons, nor of problems, and that you vanquish them all equally.  Brother ratgunner is going through a storm and we pray for him not to stop. He will come through better then he started. We thank you for this. We thank you for his healing and his financial stablity. We thank you for the brightness of the hope that lives within him and that it be shared as will the love he has to all about him as he faces these challenges in the power of faith, thus glorifying you. For in all our challenges the outcome is ultimately victory, thus we thank you and praise you, amen.

In His Love and Service,
peace

Yep that happened to me about 5yrs ago except mine was a ligament in my index finger.Maybe I'm a clutz.LOL.Anyway I didnt have the surgery yet, but soon then I'll be out for rest of the season.A coworker/friend said if I hit a deer to call him and he will drag it.So I took the longbow for a walk today sat on the ground[cant use my climber]and watched tree rats ,heard turkeys and crows but no deer.I had a great time.

Went out again today and put out some doe pee. After a couple hours in my makeshift blind I looked up from my book and there comes a buck. After watching the small buck make a scrape and start feeding again I tried to see if he was legal size[need 3 points per side here]I just couldnt see any brow tines, even as he got to within 25 yds.But he kept coming closer.THEN the last thing I expected to happen did,out of seemingly nowhere crashing through the nearby trail comes an ATV.The buck watches till they pass then takes off.Just before I left I shot a judo at a leaf where the buck stood and I hit just 2 inches high.I gave thanks to Jesus and God.To me it was a good hunt.
