Thanks for what I have
« on: October 09, 2006, 07:50:00 AM »
I started this year with a lot of hope. I had a good job that paid well, plans for Lea Ann to come and visit in the summer, plans for me moving to Arkansas to marry her. Then I was made redundant in March, I had to start eating into the savings I had put back. It ended with Lea Ann not being able to come over and our wedding plans being put back.
Well, after a couple of false starts with jobs, I finally got offered a job at the local paper mill, which pays even better than the original job. It also gives me a lot of time off due to the shift pattern we work. The best thing though is that the machine I work on is shutting down for 17 days over Christmas and I've booked my tickets to come and spend it with Lea Ann and the kids. The one thing I promised myself last Christmas was that we would not spend another Christmas apart.
The wedding plans are back on a new schedule, and while we wait for them to pan out, I'll be able to save a tidy sum to pay for it all.
Sorry for the long post, but I just felt I had to let all my Trad family know my good news and show some of you that there is a silver lining to every cloud, and that someone is always watching you.

Graham,

Those are some special words to be reading this day! Thank you for sharing and no, it's a pleasure to read of  your path and challenge.

Congrats on the job, the schedule that allows you furlough to come unite.

Most of all, it's so good to see that you turn toward God to give Him the credit for all that has happened.

Glory to Him.  Praises for His blessiongs on you and your Leann.  Thanks for sharing!
The words "Child" and "terminal illness" should never share the same sentence! Those who care-do, others question!

Great to hear it!, I'm praying for your good fortune to continue, sometimes reading the posts on the prayers/concerns board can make you feel like things are all bad, but your story shows again that there's some really good stuff taking place.
