A tough time of the year
« on: December 10, 2006, 12:59:00 PM »
I posted this poem that I heard in Church last year and it encouraged many. Thought I would re-post for those of you that missed it. This is a tough time for many that have had close friends and relatives that have passed away recently or in the past. I pray that this will encourage you and give you a living hope that only the Lord can give us. Merry Christmas... John

I'M SPENDING CHRISTMAS WITH JESUS CHRIST THIS YEAR
(Author unknown)

I see the countless Christmas trees,
Around the world below
With tiny lights, like heaven's stars,
Reflecting on the snow.
The sight is so spectacular,
Please wipe away that tear,
For I'm spending Christmas
With Jesus Christ this year.
I hear the many Christmas songs
That people hold so dear.
But the sounds of music can't compare
With the Christmas choir up here.
For I have no words to tell you,
The joy their voices bring,
For it is beyond description
To hear an angel sing.
I can't tell you of the splendor,
Or the peace here in this place.
Can you just imagine Christmas
With our Savior face to face?
I'll ask Him to light your spirit,
As I tell Him of your love.
So then pray one for another
As you lift your eyes above.
Please let your heart be joyful,
And let your spirit sing,
For I'm spending Christmas in heaven
And I'm walking with the King!

Thanks
But his bow will remain steady, and his hands will be skillful; because of the hands of the Mighty One of Jacob, because of the Shepherd, the Rock of Israel,  (Genesis 49:24 [NETfree])

Man, I remember that! As christmas rolled around after Mom died, I copied it for Dad and took it to him.

Still touches me deeply. Not just for those lost, but for how beautiful our Savior wants it for us all...and how we don't always allow it to happen as it should.

Thanks here, too!

Blessings and peace on your household and all in your heart!
The words "Child" and "terminal illness" should never share the same sentence! Those who care-do, others question!

Thanks for posting this, kinda puts it all in perspective.  I recently lost my father and this has brought a tear to my eye and a smile to my heart.

I can't say much for tears

My Father passed away on Dec 23
37 years ago tommorow and was buried on Christmas Day.

I was 9
I'm reminded of that day even more at this time of the year..

Sometimes I ask Why he had to go so soon?

Thanks for posting such encouraging words
