Prayers for a friend
« on: May 17, 2007, 08:28:00 AM »
Hey guys,
I just recieved an email from my mother about a friend of mine who got in an accident. Here's the email:

Hi Matt,  Kyle Harvey called here tonight to ask for prayers for Travis Dercks.  He was walking at work today and was in front of a forklift.  The driver of the forklift didn't see him right away and slammed on the brakes so as not to hit him.  When he slammed on the brakes a pipe that was on top fell off and hit Travis in the head and knocked him into a truck that was on the other side.  He was hit in the head twice.  They put him into a coma and removed a seven inch piece of I believe his skull to relieve the (I think) swelling on the brain.  A priest was there.  The doctor was surprised he lived to get to the hospital.  I think a machine is breathing for him.  I know you will pray for all of them, please include the forklift driver.  We sure don't know when it's our time do we? I guess it sure pays to be ready at all times.  Please agree with me in prayer that we may die in God's good grace and mercy, in Jesus' Holy Name we pray. Amen. Thank you.  I remember St. Frances of Rome is quoted, "Hope everything from the mercy of God, it is as boundless as His power."

Please pray for Travis, his family, and the forklift driver. Thanks guys, Matt

Thanks for the prayers guys. Asking for continued prayers as he has a long road ahead of him. As of last hearing he is still in a coma, but stabilized and they did have to take a seven inch piece of his skull out to keep the pressure from the swelling of his brain down.  I ask for prayers that the Lord's will be done in this and all things. Thanks, Matt

Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayers for this servant to be healed.
