Family of Autistic child (updated)
« on: July 13, 2007, 08:35:00 AM »
Local family has a severely autistic child who is now in intensive care on life support. Apparently he gets pretty violent and has knocked his father out cold at least once..beats on his mom, etc.  The mom is always so upbeat and pleasant...and lives her life for this child.

As autistics can do, he bangs his head a lot. Apparently, in one of his episodes, he banged once too often. He is on life support and currently (yesterday) there was no brain activity.

Prayers for these devoted parents who have loved the child God gave them so unselfishly, to now face the inevitable decision of turning off life support.

Lord, in your mercy

Prayers sent.

Thanks guys.  Cindy and Dennis(names of the young couple) are now reported to be meeting with a team of doctors and Gift of Life people.

Reports indicate that the family has reached a decision, but amidst that hard call, the child is deterorating rapidly.  If it be God's will, that He might call this child home before these folks have to "pull the plug" what a joy that would be for all...

Thanks for prayers. The child continued to worsen and the doctors made the choice to "call it".

Prayers for peace for this tormented family...

Prayers sent for sure for the family. It's hard to let people go, especially a child, but we can be comforted that the child is with Jesus, healthy & happy.

Thanks, folks.  Turns out that Autisim was only ONE of the child's challenges. His mother (bless her heart) carries some rare gene that cause this horrible disorder only in male children...and autisim is only one ugly part of a bunch of uglies. The guilt this woman could be carrying breaks my heart...

According to my gal who works with her, she' keeps a firm grip on His will and continues to try to be positive in the face of it all.

Hopefully, with the child now in God's hands, she and her hubby can truly heal and feel His redeeming love.

Thanks all...
