We lost our son...
« on: September 11, 2007, 10:39:00 AM »
April 1st. He was 18 years old. We thought he might have had the flu. Decreased appitite, sleeping more, seemed to have indigestion. It started on a Thursday and on Saturday I decided I would take him to the Dr. on Monday if he still didn't feel well. He went with family to pick up a cousin returning for a visit from boot camp. We let him go because he wanted to so badly. With flight delays and all it was 3:00 am before they got back home. I had worked third shift and got home at 8:30 am. I slept for a while. We didn't think too much of it being 11:00 am and he still wasn't up because of the late night they'd had, but went to his room to check on him...and he was gone. They say it was probably a virus that had attacked his heart.

God is sustaining us but I miss him so much I can hardly stand it sometimes. I have cried everyday for over five months now. My husband, daughter, younger son and I are doing pretty well with God and the support of family and friends. I haven't posted anything for quite some time because of a big job change and I didn't hunt last year at all. My ten year old son wants to hunt with me this year and I've posted on pow-wow asking for advice. I just felt that I should share this.

Prayers for you and your entire family sent from Georgia.

Though his time on earth was short it was filled with my memories he made with family and friends.  God is in control and he doesn't make mistakes!  My hope is one day that you stand before God and He will show you the impact your son had during his time here.  My heart felt prayers are with you and your family.

We have already seen the impact he has made. He was always a quiet kid and kinda shy, but we've heard time and time again how kind he was. I knew this, I just didn't know how many others knew it.

My heartfelt sympathy and prayers go out to you and your family.  Reading this makes my problem seem so insignificant.  Hang in there.

Dear Bona, our Friend and Sister in Christ,

What more can be said than has been?  I wish I had some comforting words.  I hear hope in your shared thoughts, given your strong faith and testifying to how God is sustaining you. Praises to God for that and for all of you for knowing He is the source of healing.

I'm sure we're supposed to hurt in times as these. As expressed by others, my heart aches for you and your family.

Please come and share as you need. This is a good group of caring people who will always understand.

May the Peace that passes all understanding keep you and yours...
The words "Child" and "terminal illness" should never share the same sentence! Those who care-do, others question!

Bless your heart. My Sister lost her oldest boy at 18 years of age (years ago). Lord willing, they are exchanging notes about how much their Moms and families and friends loved them and miss them, and hoping we all will understand they are in a better place.
