Prayers for my wife and I
« on: October 14, 2007, 08:43:00 PM »
First of all, I apologize for not keeping up with the prayer requests as I usually do the last month or so. But God is faithful.I had requested some prayer for my wife and couple of months ago and just wanted to give an update. Since then I have changed jobs that has kept me on the road and have not been able to go home except for 3 days in the last 2 months. Her health has not improved and she has lost almost all control of her left leg. Long story short, the specialists are baffled and I will be driving to Dallas from where I am presently working (Pratt,KS) and meeting her there. They will be doing some tests on her neck and brain (angiograms) which are not pleasant to go through. She has been going through a tough time physically, emotionally, and spiritually. In addition to her health and myself being gone, her mother has had emergency heart bi-pass surgery and her father is in the later stages of cancer. I covet your prayers for her and that the doctors will be able to diagnose what is wrong. Of course i will never count out the fact that the Lord can reach in and remove this any time he wishes, but I see and understand that there are many things that can be accomplished for His glory through suffering. I have had some unique opportunities to share the hope that I have to some of the guys that I work with. Keep us in mind as the tests are on the 17th and 18th. Thanks in advance for your prayers.... John

PT,

Your situation sounds like a big challenge all around... not the least of which is emotional for being so removed with so much going on.

Lord, you know this family....and their needs better'n we do or how to address even our humble prayers to those needs.

Lord, be with John, his wife, the team of doctors, John's mother in law and her doctors, and John's father in law as well.  They all need your comfort, blessings and peace, Lord.

Help restore John's wife's faith and strength as only You can do.  Make your Will known to them and bring them peace in this time of challenge to Trust on your Will and Plan.

We ask in His mighty name...

Amen.

Our Lord tells us  "And lo, I will be with you always, even to the end of this earth".  He never leaves us.  God will provide you with the strength your family needs. His peace is my prayer.

Prayers on the way from Georgia.
Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside thoroughly used up, totally worn out, with bible in hand and loudly proclaim...WOW...What a Ride!!!

Well it has been a stressful day and I am sitting here in the hospital room staying with my wife. Doctors are leaning towards a MS diagnosis and will know more the next couple of days. She is very sick now and I will stay with her during the night. How blessed I have been to have been given a wife like this. We do have some major concerns, but I do believe that the Lord is big enough to handle it. Thanks again for the prayers and concern.. John

John,

You KNOW the Lord is big enough...but His will and ours sometimes collide.  Prayers for strength, healing for the Mrs., and a better diagnosis.  AS good as docs are, they sometimes have to guess and that ain't time to give in or give up.

Whatever, God will give you both the strength to handle whatever comes along.

Peace to you both

Just a short update. I am back in Kansas and my wife is back home. The testing has made her sick and a spinal tap has given her some bad headaches. The test results will be back sometime next week. We did get some definite answers and that was a relief. At least we know what is not causing the problems. There is some nerve damage in the lower part of the left leg and we were encouraged to find a place that is close to home that will be able to support us with the medical needs. Carlsbad is not the best place to live concerning health care. But she was brave and I still am amazed at her strength and faith that she has in our Lord. She does have her good/bad days but we know in whom we have believed and know that we can trust Him no matter how discouraging or puzzling the situation is. Specifically, be in prayer for us as we have some decisions to make as to mabe moving to a place that is in close proximity to a MS clinic. The job that I have would allow for me to live anywhere in the U.S. so God has shown His providential hand there as well. Thanks again for your prayers and encouragement... John

Continued prayers for a positive outcome and a negative result on the MS... and for God's unfailing peace, comfort and discernment on the correct path to follow.
