Prayers continue in this very difficult of times...

My heart aches for you but I know that with your and your wife's faith, you will see a clear way through all this.

We just got back home from Lubbock. The doctors said that there is nothing else that can be done that is FDA approved. My wife is having a very difficult time and wondering if God loves her or not. Pray for her that she will see how the Lord can work through the most difficult of circumstances. I still believe that He can touch her and restore that which has been taken away (what is impossible with Man is possible with God) but I also know through His infinite wisdom and providence that good  will be a result of all of the suffering....John

Amen John. Prayers for God's best in this. I pray for strength and comfort for you as you minister to your wife. I pray God lifts the heart of your wife in the midst of her suffering. May she be healed according to the will of Jesus who suffered for her on the cross.

We received another call today. Without going into all of the details, the specialist think that we might be dealing with ALS or Lou Gerig's desease on top of the MS. There is no cure as most of you know. Her reaction to the therapy and how rapid this has progressed has puzzled them from the beginning. We are going back to Lubbock next Friday to have a EMG done. Out of all of the test that have done, she dreads this one the most. It is very painful to her.It has been another emotional evening..... John

I've had EMG's and they do smart!  :(

Man..when it rains it pours... My heart just aches for you both.

Prayers for continued and renewed strength, peace, power and faith to persevere as this unfolds.

May God hold you both in his loving arms!

Man John I can't even comprehend what you and your wife are going through. Praying that God give you and your wife an extra load of grace and strength through this. I pray that the emg be less painful for your wife and that she feel God's loving presence through this.

John my wife and I continue to pray for you and your wife. I pray that God minister to both of you to help you deal with this. I don't know God's plan in this but I know He is with you every moment even if it seems like your all alone. God's best for you both.

John,

Everytime I see you've posted, my heart goes in my throat! :(

I'm so sorry to hear this diagnosis...

Know that many of us are praying for peace, guidance, strength and that God will cover both you and your wife in His Mercy and Grace through this difficult of time...

Know, too, that there are many, many more who come here, read and pray and never post!

Keep the Son in your eyes!

John,
I read this last night, and went straight to prayer. Words printed, just don't seem to convey my thoughts for each of you, nor the respect I have for your faith. May the Lord Bless both of you for your faithfulness.

Prayers continue for you both.

Love in Christ,
David B.

My family has a moto.  It comes from Ephesians 6:13b,14a
"After you have done everything to stand, STAND"
We fought with everything we had for the life of my Mother-in-law this time last year.  She lay in front of us full of breast cancer.  This was the moto that carried us through that and carries us today.  The last words she spoke to me was "I am redeemed".  Then she opended her eyes, took a huge breath(her lungs full of cancer), got a huge smile and looked at the face of the Lord.  I miss her everyday.  Nothing will ever impact my life the way seeing her face as she looked upon the Kingdom of Heaven did.  God is real.  He is with you always.  He holds you both now and alway will.  Try to rest in his arms.  You have my prayers.
STAND-

I just read this on "E-Sword" maybe it will minister to you as it did me tonight....John

“They go from strength to strength.”
- Psa_84:7
They go from strength to strength. There are various renderings of these words, but all of them contain the idea of progress.
Our own good translation of the authorized version is enough for us this morning. “They go from strength to strength.” That is, they grow stronger and stronger. Usually, if we are walking, we go from strength to weakness; we start fresh and in good order for our journey, but by-and-by the road is rough, and the sun is hot, we sit down by the wayside, and then again painfully pursue our weary way. But the Christian pilgrim having obtained fresh supplies of grace, is as vigorous after years of toilsome travel and struggle as when he first set out. He may not be quite so elate and buoyant, nor perhaps quite so hot and hasty in his zeal as he once was, but he is much stronger in all that constitutes real power, and travels, if more slowly, far more surely. Some gray-haired veterans have been as firm in their grasp of truth, and as zealous in diffusing it, as they were in their younger days; but, alas, it must be confessed it is often otherwise, for the love of many waxes cold and iniquity abounds, but this is their own sin and not the fault of the promise which still holds good: “The youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall, but they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles, they shall run and not be weary, and they shall walk and not faint.” Fretful spirits sit down and trouble themselves about the future. “Alas!” say they, “we go from affliction to affliction.” Very true, O thou of little faith, but then thou goest from strength to strength also. Thou shalt never find a bundle of affliction which has not bound up in the midst of it sufficient grace. God will give the strength of ripe manhood with the burden allotted to full-grown shoulders.

Just a quick note thanking everyone for their prayers and wishing everyone a Merry Christmas. My wife was released from the hospital this morning after a bout with kidney stones. We were also surprised that some indivduals from our church arranged for the use of a handicap van until the end of Febuary. I thank God for them.

That's what its all about..helping others in need.

Thank you for trusting us as you've journeyed this path and took us with you.. Your world reminds me of my own favorite Jesus image...the one about "footsteps in the sand"...where when the tough times comes...there is only one set...and it's because Christ is carrying us.

Glad that your lovely bride can be home with you for Christmas... and that the handicap van is accessible for you both to get out and about a bit when she can!

Prayers for strength, peace and His Power to see you through this together while praising God for your time together!

Keep the Son in your eyes, John.
