Been a rough week. My Father-in-Law died suddenly of a heart attack last Monday morning. However, it was a blessing in disguise as he was in the later stages of cancer and was showing signs that he would have needed constant care due to the pain. As many have experienced, there is no way that you can prepare for the time when you realize that loved one is no longer here. I thank the Lord that my wife was able to see him the the day before he died and had a wonderful time with him. I still can not fathom how non-believers can go through a time like this by themselves and without a hope for the future. My wife and family is doing well. The funeral was yesterday. I spoke with my former employer this morning and they are working up a salary package. I believe my wife's ability to walk has improved somewhat after she has stopped taking the muscle relaxers. Thanks again for all of your prayers as we continue to face this storm in our lives....John

Wow...John.  Such times do make us totally rely on God for our next breath ... may you and your wife and her family know peace. Peace that passess all understanding.

May the Lord now shine his face upon your wife and bring her healing from her malise, and that this job change will come about quickly to bring you two back together.

All,
It has been a while since I have checked in and still covet you prayers. I am in California and talked to my wife today about the  latest check up. Our neurologist has told her that the MS has progressed to the point where we need to consider going back to the Mayo clinic or some place comparable. In addition to not having strength in her left leg, the disease has spread to her right leg and left arm. We ordered an electric wheel chair a couple of weeks ago. All of this has taken a tremendous financial toll. I have been talking to my former employer and they have assured me that the salary package will be completed this week. They have been saying this for several weeks now. On a side note,  my dad will be having open heart surgery in the near future and my mom is scheduled to have a hip replacement in the fall if she can make it that long. I know this sounds like an old country song, but you know what? God is good. He is faithful and in Him will I trust. And even though He slay me, I will hope in Him. Pray for us as we continue in this pruning and refining process. That we recognize where the real battle is being waged and that we will never lose the resolve to honor Him. Even in situations that could take everything that we have and cherish. Thanks again for all of your prayers....John

Prayers for you, your wife, and your whole family as you go through this. Thank God your not going through it alone. May God's peace, strength, and love hold you up.

John, What a wonderous testament of faith in your closing words.

Prayers continue for your wife's healing and surrender to His will, and for successful heart surgery for your dad and limited discomfort till hip replacement surgery for your mother.

Faith is believing what cannot be seen or proven.  May your Faith continue strong and your resolve never falter.  You are an inspiration, my friend!

Wonderful news! I can't imagine how hard it's been for both you and the wife and family to have been apart so much!

Congratulations on ypour arrangement with your former employer!

Continued prayers for His mercy, grace and love to cover your wife and you as you deal with this troubling malise! May it be His will to see her healed or in long term remission.

All,
We recieved a phone call the other day from a MS clinic in Phoenix and they told us there is nothing else that can be done medically. They had had a conference call between all of the specialist involved (Dallas,Phoenix, and Lubbock)and I guess all were in agreement that the MS has progressed to the point were there is no other treatment to try. So...we will wait on the Lord.... John

All,
I have been home for a week now and it has been nice. We will be needing some prayer concerning the purchase of some kind of vehicle that I will be able to load my wife's electric wheel chair in (we received it yesterday) and try to sell our present vehicle. These are very expensive although you can pick up a used one for 30-40K or so I have been told.  Also, we need to make a decision about moving to another house and remodel for handicap access or possibly build if we can afford it. Contractors are charging 125-135 dollars a sq/ft . Having a 20 yr mortgage and pushing 50 years old does not sound good to me.  I start my job with my former employer this coming Monday. Thanks again for the prayers and encouragement... John

Contine prayers from Georgia.
