Thank you God
« on: January 31, 2008, 11:47:00 AM »
Last night I choked a bit on the children's goodnight prayer, "Than you God for this day..."

I really bad day and I didn't want to thank God for yesterday.  It was bad.

-First thing in the morning the engine blew up in one of my cars.  It's an old car, but still new to me.  Haven't finished paying it off yet.
-My truck had a flat and I discovered that I really need new tires which will set me $ 320 +
-the van my eldest is using needs fuel pump or filter work plus new tires...
-I'm behind in paying estimated taxes for this year
-I discovered that my dearly beloved had taken a $ 300 bonus check and paid some bills, which is good, but I was saving that money for something else.
-The computer at the office doesn't want to work
-My teenage son lost an important key and acted surly when I held him accountable... imagine that?

...so by the time I was snuggling with my youngest in bed I was feeling pretty grumpy and sorry for myself.  Then a thought occurred to me that brought cheer to my heart, "I know I'll ask the Tradgang prayer warriors to pray for me 'cuz I'm feeling pretty discouraged."  When I got back up and logged on I read about a brother serving in danger in Iraq, mothers in the hospital, a daddy with a wife in the hospital pregnant with twins hoping to make it to 35 weeks and many others.  It dawned on me, I don't have it so bad.  Thank you my internet prayer friends...  Thank you God for bad days.  This is the day the Lord has made.  We will rejoice and be glad in it.

 Count your blessings
Name them one by one
Count your blessings
See what God has done
Count your blessings
Name them one by one
Count your many blessings
See what God has done

When upon life's billows
You are tempest tossed
When you are discouraged
Thinking all is lost
Count your many blessings
Name them one by one
And it will surprise you
What the Lord has done

Count your blessings
Name them one by one
Count your blessings
See what God has done
Count your blessings
Name them one by one
Count your many blessings
See what God has done

Are you ever burdened
With a load of care
Does the cross seem heavy
You are called to bear
Count your many blessings
Every doubt will fly
And you will be singing
As the days go by

Count your blessings
Name them one by one
Count your blessings
See what God has done
Count your blessings
Name them one by one
Count your many blessings
See what God has done

When you look at others
With their lands and gold
Think that Christ has promised
You His wealth untold
Count your many blessings
Money cannot buy
Your reward in heaven
Nor your home on high

Count your blessings
Name them one by one
Count your blessings
See what God has done
Count your blessings
Name them one by one
Count your many blessings
See what God has done

So, amid the conflict
Whether great or small
Do not be discouraged
God is over all
Count your many blessings
Angels will attend
Help and comfort give you
To your journey's end

Count your blessings
Name them one by one
Count your blessings
See what God has done
Count your blessings
Name them one by one
Count your many blessings
See what God has done
Be kind and merciful. Let no one ever come to you without coming away better and happier. -Mother Teresa

Ain't this place sumpin?  :)

I can't tell you how often I come here thinking I might offer solace and prayer and end up leaving bouyed up by others insights, prayers and guidance to a brother or sister.

Paying it forward is going to take me forever given what's been given to me personally from those here.

Thanks to Terry and others who commit time, money and resources to keep this site available.

As my older freind Lee once said to me when I asked him how he was doing, his reply was ,"Craig, when I get up in the morning and can get dressed all by myself it is going to be a good day." I have to agree with him. Thank you God for just allowing me to exist,be it good or bad He will get me thru.
