Thanks, Guys.... I'd advise to consider carefully any "nerve block". Sure...you don't feel pain... but dang... they raped my neck muscles...my left solar plexis didn't work so only one lung was getting good air... a lot to go through post op to avoid some pain!

Buggar hurts now...as it should. But so do my ribs, my neck feels like they hung me... yikes!

But alas... When did the other shoulder years back with rotator, I was battened down for 3 weeks with one hand an walla.... this time--took the bad boy outa the sling at 7am!  Can't do much with it...but some... loving the hurt! Cause I"M USING IT! (well, a wee bit!)   :)

Thanks for the many prayers. God helped make it non-rotator..cause the surgeon was sure from the MRI there were pin holes... Ta-Da!!!

Thanks folks! Now for a decent night's sleep! Awake at 3:30 and figured just get up at 4:30 if I'm just lying there... I'll go read...that always knocks me out!    :bigsmyl:

Doc,

Will continue to pray for quick and full recovery. Also for the pain to subside, so you can sleep.

Wow...

Couple reactions I'll share around the campfire.

1) Nerve blocks aren't what they're cracked up to be.

I had more soreness around that entry site for the block as I did initially with the surgical site! And, it affects the solar plexis so one can't breathe quite right...so I couldn't cough up that yuk from the anesthesia. So I coughed a lot and got very sore ribs...

To avoid the initial post anesthesia pain of the surgery, just to have all the complications from the nerve block and pain that went with that, I just dunno... choose wisely if asked in your future.

2) God is good all the time, but darvoset pain med is nasty stuff.

I feel like I got drug through a knothole backerts! I think pain might be preferable to this...  :)  And to think folks pay good money to feel totally out of it!      "[dntthnk]"

3) I'm so blessed to be part of this family and can come here.

I'm convinced all the petitions and prayers that are shot up here everytime someone asks for intercession, is powerful stuff. I know it helped me avoid having rotator damage! The Doc was so sure the MRI showed damage... "Hey, Doc, Naner, nanna nanner!  :)

Again, thanks so much to all of you who privately or otherwise offered up a word of prayer toward that desired outcome.

Thank you, Lord!!!  :)

Doc,
So glad to hear that you came through with a good surgical outcome even though the side effects were awful.

God is good all the time and especially when he humbles us with an injury.  It helps us remember to fully rely on him, which I  know you strive to do every day.

Thanks for giving thanks to the one who made you and the one who sustains you.  God Bless

Melissa,

You said a mouthful there about being "humbled" and he who "made and sustains"!

Amazing to see how fragile our "independent" existence is when something small hampers our ability to do for ourselves...very humbling and powerful.

Every day I wake up and can move this buggar a bit more I'm totally amazed.  The human body is just something pretty amazing...

Thanks for the well-wishes and reminders of our Source of Power!

Peace...

Thanks, Ken.  Aches and throbs...what a glorious feeling to have that pain associated with DOING stuff with it and knowing this is temporary!  :)

Saw surgeon today...he says, "Wow! You're ahead of schedule" So being a smart-butt, I say, "So, you learned nothing about me 5 years ago on the rotator surgery?" He laughed.

I'm driving..near full range of motion..!!! he assures me the sometimes horrific pain will subside if I but don't over due it! LOL... Yeah, ok! I promise. At least now I'm legal to drive to work! Yeah!

Thanks to all for the prayers. I know in my heart it had a lot to do with the lesser amount of surgery. He was so sure that the rotator was torn or had pin-holes...but he was amazed. I wasn't.

Ask and ye shall receive and all you asking on my behalf was HEARD! Thank you, Jesus. Thank you Tradgang!  :)

Yeah Doc! Great to hear the "ahead of schedule" recovery. Just make sure you don't "push the pedal"to hard.As my one good friend at work says,"slow and steady wins the race."
Take care my friend, and I thank God for your successful operation and speedy recovery.

Thanks, folks. I do appreciate the ongoing support and prayers.  I guess there are so many more here with much more pressing issues, I'm ready to let this one slide to page 2 or 3 or whatever. Thanks again for your flood of thoughts, prayers and PM's. You folks rock!  :)

EF(Dave)-- One comment...I had to laugh at your quote..reminded me of Daryl Waltrip's recent comments re: NASCAR "Sometimes you have to slow down to go faster!"

Thanks for the reminder!  :)

Doc,
There are only two things in life we truly choose for ourselves.
Love and hate
love starts out with friendship and the love builds as the relationship grows.
Hate is a choice that if given the chance to think about, we usually chose door #1 love and friendship.

There is nothing more pressing than our friends and loved ones do you agree.

Got you in my prayer my friend.

Prayers continue. Your life is ALWAYS important to God and He's more than big enough to handle all our cares.
But his bow will remain steady, and his hands will be skillful; because of the hands of the Mighty One of Jacob, because of the Shepherd, the Rock of Israel,  (Genesis 49:24 [NETfree])
