Youth bows
« on: December 19, 2007, 04:31:00 AM »
I have a friend that wants to buy a couple of youth bows for his grandchildren, ages 9 and 7.  Who makes a good youth bow or does anyone have one to sale?
Life is short.  Shoot the good arrows first.

I took an old Black Hawk semi-longbow 60"45#'s@28" built in the the 1960's I got at a yard sale for $3.00 and cut it down to 54" for my 8 year old son. I thinned the limbs and the riser, put new tip overlays on it got it to 35#'s@ 26"'s (he only draws about 22" right now) and that bow shoots great. Put maybe 5 hours of work into it start to finish. Pretty easy project.

Google Black rino archery. He makes kids bows. I have purchased 2 for my kids so far. Great service!

Great Northern Builds a Heck of a nice youth  longbow!!! I am pretty shur they make a youth recurve also. They used to have a deal where if you traded the bow back to them for the next size you got a discount on the new bow also. You will have to check with them.

You really have to look at Tim Miggs bows. His youth bows are top notch.
