Scott, sorry for your loss. I have had a similar experiance many years ago. You are way ahead of me as it took me years to realize that the memories are all that we really have at the end of the road. As long as we keep those memories alive, we keep the person alive. He will be alive with you on your hunts, fishing trips and on the trapline as long as you remeber.

Mike,

I am not aware of a place to send donations.  I will post if one is established.  Thanks for asking and thanks to everyone for your support!!

My condolences, thoughts and prayers go out to you and his family.  Cherish always the memories and time together. I hunt in the morning on the property my hunting partner and I bought several years ago before cancer took him.  Steve will be there with me in the morning.

My sincere condolences to you and his family some things we never understand!

Sorry to hear this. I lost My good friend and hunting partner 4 years ago this April to a construction accident. It takes a while to get going again.

I plan on taking a return trip to a place the first week of Nov. where Darrel and I both took deer once on a trip that I will never forget.

Remember Your friend for all the good times You shared. My thoughts and prayers are with You.  bretto

My thoughts and prayers are with you and your friend's family. I found your gesture of the flies and cartridges quite touching! I lost my best friend and brother the day I graduated from college and I've learned that things do get better and the memories are bittersweet but sustaining.

God bless,

Sorry for your loss. I know how you feel. A few years back I lost my hunting/fly fishing Bud to Liver Cancer. He was only 42.When he became sick alot of his Buds abandon him. I stepped in and said to myself he only has a little time left. Let me make his hunts and fishing trips as enjoyable as possible.I can remember seeing him  come to my set up at 9:00 AM and asking what's the matter Dave? "Oh I'm sick Tom I don't feel good" " Ok  lets get you some hot tea, no problem Bud.My best memory was on his next to last birthday when I put him in my spot and he managed to arrow a nice little 5 point. Every time I'm in my stand I say Hey Dave push something to your ole Bud! Sometimes he listens.
