We have many brothers (and sisters?) who have lamented here in this or Pow Wow, their unemployment woes over the past months.
My heart aches because so many never came back to share where they are today, or yesterday.
We want to remember our heros in armed conflict and rightfully so, we wish to remember those who paid the supreme price on 9/11/01. How too, should we and can we remember all who've come here and those among our brotherhood who have NOT shared...but are on the doorstep of total heartbreak?
In reading "Authentic Faith" recently, there is much the author shares about suffering building character, but so many times, religious institutions, meaning well, but misguidedly, assume and presume, even profess, that if one is not blessed financially or with good health, there is somthing amiss tween them and God.
That is not biblical as the "Authentic Faith" author researches and reports. Many of our biblical and worlds greatest spiritual figures have suffered immensely and prolonged, but it brought them closer to God and His work.
I find I'm struggling with how, amidst month 8 of my own unemployment, and a job hiring that ran amuck at the last moment, to know how to reach out to others, and yet hold myself together.
These are tough times. May God grant us all insight that its not punishment, it is but a challenge laid before us by a fallen world! Not of God's doing, but He will not forsake us.
Now help an ole fart off his soapbox afore I fall and break a hip!
To all: Keep the Son in your eyes...
