Doc Nock,

There are so many people on TG in distress. Thank you for posting so many words of encouragement to so many.

It would be nice for more TGs to offer words too.

I know that prayer works.  I have experienced the power of prayer myself in my life and the lives of others around me.  The Bible says, "All things work together for good to them that love GOD, to them that are the called according to his purpose."  This does not mean that GOD causes all these things to happen, but it means that GOD will use things that happen to the good in our lives.  This is a promise to "the called" that answer him and love him.

I am a pastor of a church in AR. This is not meant to be a sermon, but those that know the LORD as thier Heavenly Father have privilages that are a help.  If you and your wife know the LORD, great, trust in him, He will bring you through.  If not, call on him, he will hear you.  If you would like to talk, shoot me a PM.  I will give you my email or phone # or both.

GOD Bless!!

Matt, like i shared in your PM reply: there are many here who pray constantly, but never post. KNowing that seems to bouy my spirits when I needed it most. Some of us are more attuned to the keyboard and some stand tallest on their knees in prayer for others quietly.

Well today they did a bone marrow biopsy so lets pray that the chemo did what it was supposed to do. It will be a long 48 hours waiting to hear results. She is doing a good job of staying positive, I don't know how she does it after watching everything they have had to do to her. I love her so much, she means the world to me.
Thankyou all for your prayers, Dave

Thanks guys, just got home from Lincoln. She had a very good day today, her body didn't reject any of the blood or platlets they gave her. I think I even saw her smile a couple times when I opened this post on the laptop and we read it together. I asked her if we should post something and she got a little embarrassed and said "I don't know what to say except thankyou"
So here is a big thankyou from both of us. Your prayers and words really mean alot to us.

Pretty neat to get to work, take care of opening hour chores and log on here to read such positive things...

Good for you, Dave and better for your lovely Bride!

She doesn't need to be embarassed here. This is family... with all the quirks, warts and silliness that goes with any family.

Glad to hear the treatments are progessing well. Prayers by the boatload for the bone marrow biopsy to show good results!

Prayers too for strength and peace that passes all understanding while He holds you two close to His heart and brings you renewal.

All things are possible through the Lord. He will test all of us from time to time, but will not give us more than we can handle. Be strong for her and trust in him. He will be with you through the good and the bad. Blessings and prayer.

The Liar will not rest.  Keep the Son in your eyes and encourage your wife to do the same.

Doubt is the devil's tool. Fear, too.

Those words are easy to say and very hard for me to do most any given day or personal challenge! Regardless of how I fail or stumble doesn't change that I believe it and know in my heart it is all true.

Prayers for continued strength and vigor, perseverance, and faith to hope, believing that His will be done!

Lord in your mercy, hear our prayers for healing.

Dave,

I was away for a couple of days. I am so sorry to hear about the Chemo. When does she start again?

How are the "empty" nights?

Call me when you can. 512-567-3329

Sorry guy's been a little rough for a few days but we're back on track for now. She is done with the second chemo and the doc has good feelings about what the results are going to be. He said in this case the first chemo was kinda feeling out what her body could take and then second one hopefully takes out the rest. It is a couple of days from now that I pray she is still fighting off the side effects of this whole mess. Tomorrow I guess I get to give her a shave, that will be akward but hey I do my own every two days anyways. She even said we can take a picture together cause at least the top half of our heads will be twins!
Matt, I'm doing a little better at home my daughter comes over when she can and I cook for her and my son in law which cooking is something I really love to do. Also my daughter is due in November so maybe this time I can be full time Pappa instead of dad. One more thing I have a picture of Bonnie and I that I would like to post that we both look at quite often because we remember how happy we were that night.
Thankyou for all your prayers, Dave

Dave,

Good to hear from you. As you know, I shaved my wife's head, too.

When you think about the things you may have to do in life; shaving your wife's head is not one of them.

It was difficult. I was pretty upset during and afterwards. I was surprised that she asked me to do it and not the hair stylist.

I think I drank pretty heavy later that night. That was a bad idea. It didn’t solve or fix a thing.

In hindsight, I realize that shaving her head was not a big deal.

It was a time where she knew I loved her. She knew I would do anything for her. I wish I had realized it then.

Shaving her head was just an action; and now, just a memory.

Sleep well my friend.

Thanks Matt, The ironic part is she is a beautican so she just says it'll grow back. Hope it's ok to post a pic of her and I, when I come to this thread I sometimes need a little boost to keep from feeling sad and like I said earlier this was a happy night and a memory I hold dear.

Beautiful gal... and I'd hope posting a pic of whom and why we're praying hard for her would always be ok...

You can see in her eyes she's got spunk.

Matt brought tears to my eyes reading about such love and devotion. All I can relate is taking care of my Mom those last 2 weeks before she passed and now fussin with Dad after his stroke. I can't imagine what it'd be like with a life-partner...

Thing is that God is in control...and we all stand tallest on our knees!

I'm finally at an age that it's starting to dawn on my german, obsessive personality that when I quit trying so hard, God always gives me more strength than I ever thought I could muster and He give me the ability to tough through things I never thought possible....

...and then I realized that He just never promised I would "like it!" And then I realized that I bet Jesus didn't like what he had to go through either, but now we have the Trinity to lean on and bolster us and see us through!

Keep the Son in your eyes!

Thanks Doc Nock for all the kind words and prayers. Yes she is a beautiful gal inside and out. My mother is full blooded german which makes me half and I know what you mean about obsessive personality. Sometimes I forget to think things thru before acting and sometimes I think so long I forget to act.
