Robert,

I just saw this thread.  With two sons in the military this brings a tear to my eyes.  I'm so glad he has survived.  My prayers for his health and well being and quick recovery and for the wound in your heart.
Be kind and merciful. Let no one ever come to you without coming away better and happier. -Mother Teresa

Mr Robert, Just a note to tell you I'm still praying for your family as is my church. Could you please tell your son I'm am honored to pray for him and all those like him who do what they do so we can do what we do. They protect not just our country but also the way of life we take for granted sometimes. They protect our right to have a web site that we can come to and share the needs of others and to cry out to our Heavenly Father for all our needs. Freedom is not now nor will it ever be free. It comes at a very costly price that people like your son and all the others who have fought in all the places around the world know only too well. Some gave all but all of them gave something of themselves to protect who we are. Thanks to all of you who read this and have served this country in what ever way you did to insure our way of life.

Father having given your only Son for us you know the pain of such an action. Father please bless all those who have served in the past, present and future this day. Father please keep us mindful of the cost of our freedoms both physical and spritual. God bless us as we struggle to honor you and the ones who do this for us. It is in your Holy name I ask these things this day. Amen.......God bless you and yours.......Dusty

He is going to be up on his first set of legs Wed. if all goes well. He,s been waiting  for this to come.

He is working out and rehabbing two hours a day and getting back to his preinjury strength. Looking at a year to 18 months till he gets outta here, but they told him if he wants to run and hunt when he leaves it takes that long.

Tears of joy reading that your Son is making such good progress and is indeed, continuing to show that fighting spirit.

The Lord can work miracles, but he requires a willing soul in which to work.  It sounds like your son has a firm grasp on our Father's Son and faith in both!

May he be one of those who can amaze us in the coming months and years as he learns to use his new legs and never tires of striving toward that ultimate goal to rejoin us all in the woods.

Lord in your mercy!

My heart goes out to you and your whole family, it is obvious that you all share your son's wounds. As a nation, we are blessed to have fine young folks that do not shirk duty's demands. Your son is blessed to have your family around him, the road before him is not an easy one.
Please know that my family will include yours in prayer. There is no meaningful way to thank your son for the price he has paid for us but THANK YOU and may God make the path as smooth as possible.

Robert, I read your original post for the first time about a week ago and every evening I try to let you know I have your son and family in my Prayers but I got so tore-up I couldn't finish.

These last 10 years there have been so many of our finest men and women lost or grievously injured that it's hard to take anymore.

I can't imagine the emotions of the families going thru it all. I'm so glad that he will eventually be able to return to the things he loves doing.

He is Blessed with a loving family in support of his recovery, and as God spared him I know He will be with him also.

Your family will always be in my Prayers.

DannyBows..there are many hurt and more coming in everyday. Almost all of my son's unit has been wounded and are now here. His squad is out of commission. Not due to face to face combat, but cowardly IED's.

On a lighter note he is walking a little everyday now. Been on them maybe 6 hrs total and now uses a cain. Things are lookin up.

Thank you Lord for that "little bit of walking" each and every day!

May your Holy Spirit watch over these young men and women harmed in our defense of freedom and be with them all as they struggle to heal and rebuild shattered lives. Amen

Robert, Keep the Son in your eyes. We'll keep your son in our prayers

Robert, is there anything we can do to help? Maybe books, magazines, movies or such to keep him busy between therapy sessions.

Let us know.
