Prayers for my wife
« on: January 14, 2012, 06:33:00 AM »
Every one has rough times ,I know this, but my wife really needs prayer now.......we have had to place her mom in a care facility due to alzheimers and now her dad is gravely ill with congestive heart failure....due to all the pressures of this, and all the running around to get affairs in order, she is exhausted....we have tried to have her slow down, but all we hear is " that's my parents "...well you know.....please pray for her peace as she is REALLY having a hard time with all this......

I'm there, have been for 2 yrs with my Dad. Had a stroke and the "home" hasn't quite lived up to his needs (or my perception thereof) so I visit daily.

I wish I had a great idea or super mantra to share to help. I don't.

I think I found some stability in that I KNOW that I must do this..it is only right. That resolves my sense of duty and love for my remaining parent (mom passed).

What I had to do was to realize there are some aspects of it all that I cannot do and most importantly, I had to learn: I CANNOT CONTROL THE OUTCOME!

Encourage your wife to seek thru prayer God's own release that her parents are in HIS care alone...and while she has responsibilities, there is no amount of activity or effort that is going to PROTECT her parent's and whatever is God's Will.

I think that is what allowed me to continue with a minimum of insanity. She can provide NO CARE if she crashes and burns.

Sometimes we push too hard thinking that if we but suffer enough, we can affect the outcome of a loved one's health. We cannot. ONLY God!

Prayers for protection for your wife's parents according to His Will.

Prayers for your wife to realize her role is one of support and prayer for her family, parental and current family by taking care of her self and trusting in His Will for her folks.

Lord in your Mercy....

I know what you are going through.  We are living it as well however I cannot imagine what it would be like having two parents failing at the same time.

God bless and be strong.
Relax,

You'll live longer!

Tony, man my wife and I are going through the same thing almost. He daddy has passed away but her Mother is in the early stages of Alzheimer's it would appear. Just yesterday they had to get the law involved to get her to go and be evaluated to determine if she is able to live by herself. We all know she can't but she is the one fighting it. That is one of the worst parts of this is that the person who has Alzheimer's don't think there is anything wrong with them. The other sisters aren't much help and thereby make my wife look like the bad guy. What a mess. I know others who have had to travel this road it is never pleasant that id for sure. But by the grace of God we will get through this. It is just a ruff time for her and with me working a 3 week rotation and being gone she has this to handle all alone for the most part. Good thing she is a strong person. Help me pray that she will continue to stay that way, and I will pray the same for you. God bless you and yours.......Dusty

Prayers continue... FWIW, last Feb my Dad's doctor told me it was the end... so we scheduled a time where I took off work to be there and the doctor told dad his body was wore out and shutting down.

Doc did a nice job, but looked "down" at the floor a lot. I watched Dad...his eyes welled and lip quivered, but he didn't break. That night he cried when a friend went to visit and he talked about passing.

Just didn't suit Pop. He rallied, had a few good months and now lingers but it's almost a year!

Only the person and God can arrange or delay the time and place.

Prayers for peace for your wife and her parents continue...and strength for you!

Keep the Son in your eyes!
