Stringstretcher (Charlie Jefferson) needs our prayers
« on: June 24, 2012, 07:52:00 AM »
Many here have followed Charlie's trial with his bizarre malise brought on in part by some chemical in turkey feathers and his years of grinding and chopping them that upset his balance, inner ear, and caused him untold heartache and lost equalibrium and loss of activity.

he's been doign well after some treatments and med changes...even got to a beloved Tenn Classic primitive gathering he'd longed to do...

On a roll, he came to Penna for a small, quiet and quality shoot and camped with us.

Unfortunately, for whatever reason, he started to feel the effects returning toward the weekend's end and had a tough drive home Sunday... back to VA.

he's now laid up and fighting again.

Prayers are sought that they can help Charlie find his equalibrium again, get back on track and return to activity after another week of bad karma and poor health.

I know he'll be grateful to be remembered in your prayers.

Lord, In your Mercy...

Thank you Doc and Barry.  Not really sure where this is going to lead this time.  The last visit I had with my ENT specialist said there was only one other area that might be a cause and that is never damage from the eye to the inner ear.  Not sure what has brought this attack back on again, but it is as bad as it was before anything was done the first time.

If you guys don't see me active on here for a while, please keep me in your prayers, and I will try and update you as I can.  Not sure all this time spent watching the rolling screen on a computer is helping, but at least it gives me something to do.

Thanks and God Bless you all
Charlie

I will be lifting you up again my brother. Hopefully this is but a small set back and things will turn around for you. God knows the end of this and has you all covered up. Thanks Doc for bringing this to our attention and Thanks Charlie for sharing with us this update. Lord please show the Dr. what he needs to get this fixed. You made us and you know what will fix us when we are broken. Please heal Charlie and make him whole again. Please stand with him and his family through all of this. I ask this in your name.......Amen.

Thanks JL.

I made the call to the doctor's this morning.  My scheduled appointment was not until September 12.  But they could work me in on August the 9th.  I told the person to have my doctors office call me, and the nurse did.  She got me an appointment on July 9th at 3:10 at his other office just a little further down the road so I took it.

I had to take a meclizine this morning as things are or appear to be getting worst by the day.  The nurse told me to call back this Friday to see if anything had opened up sooner.  In this case, July 9th can not get here fast enough.  Just have to deal with it until then, so I might be a little short in my visits to the sites for a while.

Charlie,

You know my heart and came to see if you were up to posting here...

Prayers for a sooner openign to avail itself as Benson said!

You two guys keep me on my knees! That is where I should be more often anyway, so my gratitude for your help in humbling myself before Him!

Been a goofy week here, but nothing by way of comparison to you and Benson.

Lord, forgive my selfish wilful ways and needs.  Please be with our two friends and all those who come here reaching out to you for your mercy, intercession and healing.  Thy will be done, Lord. Amen

Prayers they can find some cause/effect toward the gnarly return of symptoms...if not, prayers for your continued perseverance, strength and patience to Wait on His time to reveal the next step! He's brought you this far through this ordeal.

He will NOT abandon you. Keep the Son in your eyes, brother!

I shot a quiver full of special cane arrows the day before yesterday. Each arrow was a prayer for your full recovery, Charlie, that your future years are full of the joy of what has been put here for us.

Killdeer
Long, long afterward, in an oak I found the arrow, still unbroke;
And the song, from beginning to end, I found again in the heart of a friend.

Charlie continues to struggle. Got new Rx for glasses with much bigger lenses to stop peripheral vison stimulation, but so far nothing positive...he goes back today for dialation.

Charlie, prayers continue for you old friend.

Just got home and did all the explaining I could do verbally for a while, so now I will type some.  Had a nice long sit down talk with the Dr.  We both laid our options on the table and we decided on the best possible route to take as it stands right now.

Apparently there is still enough function left in the inner ear that the gentmicin shots did not kill completely.  Since things get better for longer each time we did the shots, he is confident there is still some function that the shot will just no kill.  Option======SURGERY.  This will in no doubt take out all the functional parts of my left ear, bar none.

Second option.......Placed on some new medication to see how my balance reacts to this.  If it helps, no doubt again there is still function in the inner ear.  If it does not help, either not the right medicine or dosage===TO BE DETERMINED BY ME ON HOW I FEEL AFTER UPPING EACH DOSAGE EVERY 5 DAYS.

Bottom line.  The surgery is being scheduled for the 1st to middle of September, and only I can cancel that based on how the medicine works for me.

After surgery======IF I WAKE UP DIZZY, HE WILL KNOW THAT THERE WAS SOME FUNCTION LEFT, IF I DO NOT GET DIZZY, I WILL THEN HAVE TO GO TO A NEUROLOGIST TO HAVE THE BRAIN WAVES/INNER EAR/EYE FUNCTION CHECK BECAUSE IT WILL NOT BE THE INNER EAR SINCE HE WILL COMPLETELY KILL ALL FUNCTIONS OF THAT EAR WHILE IN SURGERY.

I'm a bit overwhelmed to read your words, Charlie, and I can feel your concern...it's a lot to take in and digest.

Prayers for discernment and peace as you wrestle thru these new choices, hurdles and challenges.

Keep the Son in your eyes, Charlie!
