Update on Stringstretcher(Charles Jefferson)
« on: July 18, 2012, 05:54:00 PM »
I want to thank each and everyone of you for your thoughts and prayers of late, and would like to ask that you continue them for me.

Tuesday July 24th, I will be going to VCU for an operation on my left inner ear, that will completely eliminate my left side balance function due to this dreaded Minere's disease.  I also will have the complete vestibule of theinner ear that controls  the vestibular function taken out.  All of this will be done via drilling all the affected areas out of my inner ear.

To say I am scared is putting it mildly, because of the possibility of not being able to do things that I used to do, or not being able to do things that I can now.  Only time will tell.

I will most likely be off of the computer for a extended period of time, but will keep a few informed as I can on the progress as I can.

This will be a long long road to travel in recovery and be at least 8-12 weeks of operation/rehab recovery time.

Let's hope I can get in the woods on October, even if someone has to carry me!!

Thanks and God Bless
Charles Jefferson (stringstretcher)

I wasn't sure if you were going to post or not, Charlie, but next week, I would have alerted our "prayer warriors" to fire up the furnace and get some going to Him who already knows and sees all.

Just keep telling yourself, Charlie, God's in charge and he's not let you down this far... He's got work yet for you to do and things to share with the rest of the world!

Count on it!

Peace, brother. We got you covered up in Prayers for health, peace and an excellent outcome!

After sitting here all day waiting for a call from someone, anyone, I just made a call to the Surgery Scheduling Department.  They informed me they do not usually call until later in the evening.  Well to make a long story short, their evening just got short, real short.

I am scheduled to have the surgery at 1:00PM tomorrow and have to be there at 11:00 AM in the morning.  Very little to go on, but supposedly the surgery is about 2 hours long and there is a 24 hour grace period of post operative surgery to see how well I am doing, or can do, and then it will be decided if I have to stay or not.  Have no idea at all, so nothing I can relay to anyone at this time.

The only reason I will be there at the time requested is because I feel it will help ME.  Because their system of informing patients lacks every thing to be desired.  To say I am a little PO'ED is putting it lightly, but feel I have to get this done if there is any hope of improvement for me.  Other wise, there would be a lot of idle people at 11:00 to 1:00 wondering where I am.

Praying Charlie. Seems to me that some of the scheduling departments really are messed up. The radiology dept where I get ct scans is really messed up. They'd leave me a message and gave me a number to call that was wrong and I could never get a hold of them. Praying for God's best and His comfort right now.

You will do extremely well in this procedure and bounce back like a raquette ball, bubba!

I just know it.

Lord's in control, Charlie... we got you covered up in prayer tomorrow and till you're on yoru feet and the Lord got the sugical team covered.

Them schedulers are just hourly paid folk with either too little training or too little savvy.

They don't count! Good on you checking proactively.

We're on the watch tomorrow for ya brother!

Praying for you Charlie.
I hope this makes all your woes disappear, and the world will again be a bright, inviting adventure for you.

I'll be lifting you up tonight s well as in the morning. I feel your pain with the hospital types. Dr. are the one's who get my blood hot. You make an appointment and then you wait. Like they are doing you a favor to see you. Appointment means to be seen at a set time or within a reasonable time frame. Anyway I here for you as well Mr. Charlie Lord make this all go away.......Dusty

Thinking of you, Charlie, as you prepare to go in for healing.  I am fairly close if you need anything. My camp might be an option for you this fall.

At 8:30, charlie posted elsewhere that he is shutting down his computer and getting ready to leave with his daughter to head to surgery intake.

As we all prepare for a mid-day repast, Charlie will be preparing to be wheeled into a surgical suite for a 2 hr process to grind out his inner most ear bones.

I know those who have followed along will be praying throughout this day for God's hand on Charlie's surgical team to do well and for his operation to be a stunning success and that his recovery be ever so quick and sure.

I was privilaged to have Charlie drive up to PA to a modest shoot hosted by great people this past mid-June... right after he got to his beloved Tenn Classic.

It was a grand 4 days of bonding for me with this fine gentleman.

Lord in your Mercy, hear our prayers! Thy will be done.

Lord this morning I lift up my brother Mr. Charlie. While you don't need us to remind you of what is taking place in his life and how important it is to him, you have commanded that we share each others loads and burdens. Father you also tell us tha the prayers of a righteous man avalieth much. Father if there is any unclean thing in me I ask you this morning to reveal it so that I can confess it and come before you with a clean heart. Lord you made this man and you can fix him as well. Stand with him and bring him through this procedure today with the results he is looking for. I love you Lord and am standing firm on your word this morning and believing you for the healing.......In Your name I ask this Lord.......Amen.......Mr. Charlie thanks for your steadfastness and I will be watching for this healing to come forth.......Dusty

It is a bright, clear morning, with dry, clean, cool mountain air gently breezing through. I hope you rested well, Charlie, and feel better.

This was posted elsewhere by Charlie's Daughter regarding Charlie's Surgery yesterday...

"his surgery went well. He has to stay tonight in the hospital and I will go back and get him tomorrow morning as of right now. Thank you for all the thoughts and well wishes. "

Thank you, Lord.  Thy will be done.

Continued prayers from Georgia

Ole buggar is making remarkable recovery, but some of us expected that since his other side brain stem has been doing the balance compensation with what the ear shots did to kill off the bad side... then it would regenerate some and start it all over.

This time...it's DEAD for sure and we're seeing Charlie doing more , more quickly, than he or the docs expected which is great news...

Now if he only doesn't over do it and take a nose dive pushing too hard!

Charlie, patience, Grasshopper... this will all pass quickly but don't push the envelope at your age!  :)

Or ever!

Keep the Son in your eyes!
