Elk Trip and Family (update)
« on: August 28, 2012, 02:29:00 PM »
I started and stop this request several times. I felt a little selfish after reading and praying for others that had requested prayers. We serve an AWESOME God. I started to back out again But Then I thought who else to lift up a hunter and his family but other christian hunters. So here goes.

Im leaving to Coloraodo this Thrusday on a Elk hunt with a good friend. I always feel bad leaving my family around this time. School just started and my Wifes job is very stressful around this time. My beatiful Wife is very encouraging and wants me to go. So my request is to pray for peace and safty while Im away. Also that everything go well at home while Im gone (no broken water pipes)

Also please pray for our safty as we travel to and from CO. and that our hearts and eyes are opend to Gods Glory. 2 Big bulls would be nice as well.   :)

Thanks everyone

God Bless

Prayers for God's perfect will
But his bow will remain steady, and his hands will be skillful; because of the hands of the Mighty One of Jacob, because of the Shepherd, the Rock of Israel,  (Genesis 49:24 [NETfree])

You got it...and while I'm at it, might I throw in a few "Thank you's" to our Father for you being blessed with

1) a seemingly GREAT wife
2) fortune to be able to make a trip to CO for elk
3) resources to have it all happen
4) a good friend to travel with and share the hunt

Godspeed and God's Will for you and yours!

Thanks

Doc, Amen to that. I thank the Good Lord everyday for my wife and family and all he provides.

Take care

I was reminded of the verse in Proverbs when you were talking about your wife.
Proverbs 31:10-11
10) Who can find a virtuous wife?
For her worth is far above rubies.
11) The heart of her husband safely trusts her;
So he will have no lack of gain.

I have worked offshore for 33 years and I have had my wife 32 years. I have come to learn that she really don't need me to do things for her she just lets me think she does. She fits this verse to the letter.

SO go and have a great time because you have coverage at home to hold the fort. She has this under control and she has our Father to help her as well. I hope you get a couple of good bulls to boot as well. Lord fill this brothers request in the way that only you can.......Amen.......Dusty

Guys,  just wanted to say thanks for your prayers. We had a blessed time. No bulls and no problems. The scenery was just stunning and displayed Gods glory. Everything was good at home and our wives and family were very happy to see us back. Praise the Lord.

There is a poster here that has a tag line  that says, "Being there was good enough" or something akin to that.

I've often thought about that statement in some rather marginal outings...and have to agree...

Congrats on a good time, God's bounty in His creation and grandiose scenery...and a warm welcome at home.

Just don't get no better than that! Not on this side of the green grass me thinks!

Congrats on an awesome time!

Well there is always next year. Glad you had a good trip and it is always good to get home. Nothing like a little distance to make one realize how blessed they are to have someone at home keeping the fire burning. Thanks for the update and good hunting at home this year.......Dusty
