So thankful
« on: October 01, 2012, 02:08:00 PM »
I have some rather jubilant news that I just have to share.

On Tuesday September 25, 2012, exactly two weeks past due, my wife delivered our fist child.  A darling little baby boy!

The pregnancy was not overly troublesome, but the last month or so was filled with false labours, daily visits to the hospital for monitoring and thoughts of c-section and inducing procedures discussed regularly.  Prospects were not looking good for a natural birth and my wife was becomming quite discouraged.  She was admitted to hospital for closer monitoring on the 23rd.

Before the birth I had a very profound moment with the Lord.  My wife elected to have an epidural.  She knew the risks and benefits and was a little nervous having it done.  I sat facing away from her and she leaned on me for support as the Dr. performed the procedure.  I sat there silently praying to myself and began askign the Lord to watch over my wife and envelope her in his grace and salvation.  I then formally and purposfully invited Christ to my life and submitted my life to him.  I asked his forgivness and committed my life to him.

I have considered myself a Christian for a long time, but when asked by my pastor if I had submitted my life to Christ and asked him to come into my life, I could not recall formally doing so.

My wife delivered our son at 6:03 am.  The cord was wrapped around his neck, the ob/gyn was in the delivery room next door dealing with another birth which had occurred at 6:00 am.  The baby was delivered but was not breathing.  My mother in-law is an O.R Nurse and she jumped in to assist the doctor and lone nurse on the floor to get our little man breathing.  It felt like forever and I swear it was all of 5 minutes or more before I heard his first cry.  My wife and held eachother the entire time and wispered prayer in eachothers ears while fighting back tears.

Despite cooking for an extra two weeks, Desmond Andre Daly weighed in at only 5 pounds.  He spent the first half of the day in the nursery brining him up to temperature and administering an IV drip to maintain his blood sugar (until he ripped it out).

After his first bath:

We truly felt the power of prayer and of God in the labour room and feel truly blessed to have such a happy, healthy, beautiful baby boy.

A double birthday. One of water and the other of the Spirit. That is way too cool to have the same birthday. God gave a double blessing to you that day in the delivery room. That would be a triple blessing after I think about it. Man God had this whole thing wrapped up. Now that should never surprise us as His children. That is how a Father does thing for HIS kids. PRAISE God for your and your son's salvation, his physical and your spritiual, and what a story to be able to share with him someday. Thanks Father for your protective hand in this families live. Please continue to carry them safely on this new walk as parents and as a new believer. Hold them close to your heart. Thank you this day,  Amen. And thank you for sharing this here with us.. .....Dusty

Praise God!!! Prayers for you and family and that Desmond will know the love of Jesus at an early age and be a blessing to you.

What Rookie said...x 3!!!

No coincidences in that delivery room...just God-incidences!

Amen and praise be!
