For Our Killie
« on: October 30, 2012, 06:18:00 AM »
I well know there are so many that need and deserve prayers and concerns in general and in the wake of Sandy.

However I'd just like to ask that the good Lord be prayed to provide a special guardian angel to look over our own Killie as she spends her annual camping/hunting trip in the hard hit mountains of WV during this stormy time. She is a very competent person and camper but we all could use a little extra strength and caretaking when under possible adverse conditions.

Prayers sent up for a safe and rewarding time spent in his creation.

I heard from her by email in reply to a joke sent out...she is headed out for 3 weeks!!

When I lamented an approaching storm, she sent me a picture of her camp, with 2 big tents (dome style) and snow up the whazoo as a reply...no words. Just the pics...

What a ornery pup! Clark was preparing to help her get ready...wasn't sure when she was actually headed out, but indeed, Bernie, we want to pray a mantle of protection on that one and all in harm's way.

Nature shows no favorites when she unfurls her wrath.

Prayers for Killy's safety and for all to survive this well.  Locally, in this neighborhood, we did not lose power last night but what voracious winds all night...now gray as can be..still breezey, but power remained!

Prayers for a safe adventure and the knowledge of God's presence and life. He is wild you know 8-) (ie unreligousized)

I remember that trip (the pics from it) when she got snowed "under". She's a pip in all ways, for sure.

Good luck, Killie.  May you have a quiver full of angels to help break your path!  Hope you find peace, solitude and rest.

She's some place you'd have to reach her by smoke signal right now....

Clark sent out an update... many cell towers are out so Killy had to travel a bit to call home...got lots of snow, but roads were passable with her 4x4.

There was an issue with some Tent Fly so she was off to find a big tarp to put over or a replacement...

Other of her hunting buds were headed out soon so she'll have company for a few days. Apparently, she's doing well and likely musing lots and making notes for her return postings!

I've also been getting copied on the msgs from Clark and the others that go up there, and things sound like they have it covered (for supplies, etc.) We can all bet on (and look forward to) that last sentence in your post, Doc.   :campfire:

Thank you all for your prayers and well-wishes. Looks like they worked. I got around 18 to 22 inches of snow in camp, spent three days digging around the tent to keep the air flow under the fly, and keeping the tent from building up too much "roof". The next few days were fraught with high winds, making me pray for the lives of several venerable old maples. The tent fly was shredding, and the poor thing is doomed. But I didn't die, and wasn't snowed in for long. And Verizon does not have the coverage out there that AT&T does, if anybody is wondering.    :readit:

Thank you all again!
