In times of need..............P.U.S.H.
« on: March 16, 2013, 07:58:00 AM »
I have been very reluctant to post my need for prayers. I read the health issues and needs of others and mine seems very "pale" in comparison.

That being said.........I have been down with my back for about a year and a half now. I have been sleeping in a recliner for over two years because I can't get up out of bed when I sleep there. The problem is bulging discs in my lumbar spine. I've had back issues for over 30 years but nothing that a trip to the chiropractor wouldn't cure. THIS is different, I am in pain 24/7 and have been going to a "Pain Center" to try and get some relief. The steroid injections made no difference at all. Currently they are trying medial branch blocks, I had the first ones this past week and notice NO DIFFERENCE at all. The only thing that brings me even the slightest difference is my trusting old heating pad.

I have been active my whole life and this is kicking my tail. I am unable to do most everything that I truly enjoy. I have moments of depression and feelings of worthlessness. I pray on a daily basis for relief......but none has come my way. I absolutely refuse to give up, I'm not a quitter. Please, if you could find the time in your daily prayers........ask the good Lord above to give me some relief for my pain. I havent been able to even sit at the computer and visit my favorite site. I miss talking with all you guys and the ability to shoot my bows worse than anything.

Thy will be done...........

I have a friend with a degenerative spine disease who had a spinal cord stimulator put in that has been the only thing that has given her relief. If you have a pain specialist check with them
But his bow will remain steady, and his hands will be skillful; because of the hands of the Mighty One of Jacob, because of the Shepherd, the Rock of Israel,  (Genesis 49:24 [NETfree])

Don,

Sorry I've missed this...been chasing docs about since I finally have insurance myself.

Nobody can understand how debilitating chronic pain is till they experience it...it sucks life out of one fast!

Prayers for healing and for you to persevere and continue to seek alternatives to standard treatments! Back pain can be the worst...everything stems from there and all movement involves it.

John, keep the faith my brother of the bow, things have a way of working out and remember a positive attitude is helps. I know where your at I have been there. After two back surgeries and correct exercises I have greatly improved, and I use a hang Up machine almost daily and it helps as a preventative measure for me. I will be praying for your recovery.

Matt. 8:17,  He took your sickness and bore your pain, Mark 11:24, believe that you receive and it will come,  I believe with you,  my wife was healed instantly from a severe back problem over 35 yrs ago.

Well......with no relief so far with all their "wasted" attempts at pain blocks, the insurance has FINALLY approved a "test-run" with the neuro-stimulator that you are speaking of.

I'm REALLY hoping that this gives me at least some relief. Things happen in the time that they are supposed to and I realize and accept that. It sure doesn't pay the bills or put groceries in the fridge though. It's been a tough row to hoe so far, but I have managed to not have to get rid of my two Blacktail recurves nor my Zipper longbow...........so far.

I can't express enough how much all of ya'lls prayers and thoughts mean to me. Since I posted last, I have applied for disability.......even though I expect a LONG FIGHT to get it. "Whenever" that may be.....is in God's hands. I do know that I will never be able to do what I used to do on a regular basis and can accept that. I would however like to be able to sleep in a bed again and take a walk around the block without having to have a ride back to the house.

Things are exactly as they are supposed to be. I still have so much to be thank-ful for and to have as understanding of a wife as I do, is very near the top of the list. I've been useless, pretty much and she still loves me anyway.
