Thought I'd give out an update:  healing was going ok thru October but mid-Nov I started a 5 day steroid regiment to decrease swelling in my throat.  While that worked some, I also caught a sinus infection/cold bug.  For the last 3 weeks it felt like I was back in Sept. Had to increases my pain meds and eat thru the feed tube.  Mostly recovered now but still using the tube.  Prior to this setback we were talking to the docs about getting the feed tube removed and the medi-port removed.  Decided to keep both for now.
Recovery is slow but it now back to moving in the right direction again.  He will get me thru it.
Thanks for your prayers.

Indeed, Scott, prayers will continue for your complete healing and your family to have great reasons for rejoicing this Holiday Season.

Sorry for the setback, but after what you're body went thru, I'm sure it is not huge surprise to have challenges!

Its been almost a month so time for an update:  met with ENT Dec 19th.  He scoped my throat and poked around my neck.  No evidence of problems. Praise God! He also gave me a shot of lydocaine for my throat.  His thought was my throat pain may be more surface like a sore throat rather than deeper in the tissue.  He was right as the pain for the most part went away.
Reduced the pain patch again to 12mg from a high of 100mg in Aug.  Tried dropping from 25 to 0 but that was too much of a jump and my body didn't like it at all.
So now I have the low pain patch and use Cepastat lozenges for slight pain mostly after I eat and sleep with ACT dry mouth lozenges to keep mouth moist at night.  That's it.  Long way from the list of meds I was on in August.
Still tired but its getting better.  Eating all meals by mouth.  Even had Digiorno pizza a few times.  Hoping to get back to work in Feb.
God is good and getting me thru this.

Thank you, Jesus!!!

Soon you will be posting those pics of you eating a juicy cheeseburger taken by Awesome Austin, and juice running down your chin and drippin on your belly!

Congrats that things continue to progress well. I wish it were instant, but forward is GOOD!

Doc, may try the cheeseburger thing this weekend.  Austin wants to make my first burger so I'll let him give it a go.  Look for pix  :)

Update:
Off all narcotic pain meds, using Aleve and lidocaine as needed.
Off Lovenox injections for blood clot, low dose aspirin daily.
Started on the treadmill and bike this week along with a light workout and stretching.
I can finally get my lightest Silvertip back to full draw - 71# at my drawlength.  Don't know how many shots I make in a session but its good to get it all the way back.
Start back to work on Feb 3rd doing half days 3x a week for first 2 weeks then half days 5x for two weeks and re-evaluate.  It'll be tough getting back into the groove again but I'm looking forward to it.
Feed tube and medi-port are being removed Feb 6th.
Thanks again for your prayers.  God itsgood for getting me thru this.

Long overdue update:
Working full time since the beginning of March.  It kicked my tail early but I'm gaining on it.
Had another CT scan Friday.  Doc actually made a point to read it today and send us a text - all clear.  Praise God!
Been keeping busy with the boys.  Am able to shoot my lighter Silvertip.  Looking forward to turkey season.  Life is Good.

Scott,

Bit slow on the response as I was incognito for a couple days up in my old haunts in Centre Co.

Good to hear the CT was clear! Prayers will continue for continued progress at a positive pace. I know you have to be chompin at the bit to go full throttle, but steady as she goes, Hoss!

Lighter bows need love too!  :)

Doc - my lighter Silvertip is 72#.  Only good for about 20 good shots then back to the 64# Super Magnum.

Was able to run intervals last week for 2.25 miles.  Pace and endurance are improving.  Like you said, slow and steady.

72#!!! Good Heavens!  Remind me to never get you mad at me!!

64# hasn't been in my repertoire for a long, long time either!    :D

I once ran 2 miles...but something big and nasty was chasin me and wouldn't stop!

Congrats, Scott! I'm delighted to hear you're doing so well. I know it's been a long slow road, but Good Lord's been smiling on you for sure, so keep the foot off the throttle and ease on in!

You're making stunning progress!

Keep the Son in your eyes.

Thank you, Jesus!!!
