In 1993 I fell off my roof and shattered both legs. I have suffered with very bad arthritis in both ankles for twenty years now. It limits the distance I can walk and really changed the way I hunted. I finally have made the decision to have a total ankle replacement, and today is the day .... I am having the left ankle replaced and if that goes well I'll do the right one next year.

Wish me well, I would love to take a "long" walk in the mountains

I'm wishing you all kinds of luck; all of it good luck. I had my right knee replaced last year and will be looking at the same for the left one - probably next year.

I'm sure there will be some physical therapy that will speed recovery.

Not fun by any means, but "a guy's gotta do what a guy's gotta do".

Holy Cow, an Ankle replacement....I wish you all the best and a speedy recovery and rehab. I'm looking at knees in the future.

Good luck Kenny. Take time recovering and make sure you listen to your doctor. Put 100% effort in your rehabing you'll be back on your feet sooner than expected.

Good luck man.

MIL just had hers broke, readjusted and fused straight for the lack of better terms.  It's been six months now and she is doing great.  Follow the doctor's orders to a tee and it will be good.

It's a big commitment, but doing one at a time with a year healing process is the way to go, you are doing good.
