Dave,
I already know it is truly expensive for the cost of moving. We been looking into it as well. My wife wants to rent a U-Haul and drive out. She is going to have a family member come out to drive her car out so she can drive the U-Haul and me drive my truck. My wife is a farm girl and the east coast isn't for her. She thought it was so weird that the women here don't can anything, put up preserves or bake???,,LOL.
Let us know how your move is going and again, best of luck Dave!!

Sold more "stuff" at a yard sale...trying to whittle down what I take, but at this age, there are THINGS you can't replace cause they don't make em as well as what you have had for years!  :(

Still struggling with the options.  "Friend" (?) wants me to pay what I think is an awfully LOT to have his "ministry minions" follow us down to unload his 26' box truck and put these yahoos up for the night scattered around the house on air mattresses.  That is on top of what I alloted for his gas down and back...   :banghead:

I don't know these folks... and it seems a grand is a LOT to unload a truck!

Don't let guilt guide you. Look at the options. Is there a church where you're headed that you can contact and ask the pastor if they have people that can help. Even if you paid them it would be cheaper and you'd start your church family relationship right away. IMHO

“In returning and rest you shall be saved;
In quietness and confidence shall be your strength.”

Good advice, Galen.

Hard to know.  I don't want to be stingy but there are some "signs" this isn't as it it professed to be and will take considerable coordination on this guy's part...

I'm not getting a lot of warm fuzzy feelings---yet!

Please pray for MY discernment and hearing God's still small voice...some of my biggest challenges lie in that area! I'm too cerebral and active at times to be quiet and hear!!!

Sent you an e-mail with this.
Here's a good guide for decision making. Doesn't sound like you're feeling this on this decision.

NOPE...not feeling any of that...

But mere mortals often disappoint, I know I surely do.

Whatever will be, will be regardless how much "angst" I put into the situation.

Doc,
Look at ABF for your move.  They'll bring 28 foot trailers.

You can hire some day labor to help you pack it high and tight...then they'll move the trailers to destination.

If you need help, just call me

six seven eight, three hundred, two eight 8 three.

Ray,

That is a very kind and generous offer, but it's nearly 4 hrs of hard driving from you to my new digs outside Greeneville, TN!

I'm not keen on hiring day laborers on that end who then see my goodies and think, "gee, lets go back shopping at the old Yankee's place..."

I can likely get it covered here... but the "snowbird migration" has most of the company's booked way ahead and I don't yet have a closing date!  :(   Could be in 2 weeks!

Gilbert,

No problem, brother, you've been steppin and fetchin to get ready for your hunt! This ain't no big thing, cept'n to me, most likely!

I just got funny feelings about things with this move set up, and I'm over-whelmed trying to pack all my stuff myself! Well, at least to avoid just throwing mis-matched stuff in boxes to be done.        :knothead:
