Prayers sought on move...
« on: October 03, 2014, 12:34:00 PM »
I'd had several of you pray for the offer on the house and that went well--thank you.  I've been blessed in small ways up to this point... and I thank you for your prayers for things and my peace.

Now there are "admininstrivia" issues looming on the closing...which is / was scheduled for the 10th or 13th, sent overnight to me, sign and back over night and then the truck and paid truck loaders are here the 16th, I roll out with a friend behind me the 17th for TN, the truck rolls in with 12 people behind to unload the 18th, and now we're being hung up by this goofy stuff...

No way I can change all this stuff...move out date set, all sorts of irreversible things in motion.  Being so far away, it's unsettling to be sure,

I could use a few prayers for "personal peace" and also for things to get moving and back on course.

I'm indebted... and thank you!

Amen Praying God tear down any barriers that satan tries to through in the way. Father God I've had the same thing happen when moving on your plans. Everything is falling into place and satan tries to derail it and get me stressed out. I know Dave is feeling the stress so I ask that you kick the evil one out of the way. In the name of Him who you have given all authority, Jesus.

Thank you guys...chokes me up a touch to read your kind words. Much appreciated.

The realtor and mortgage lady tell me to "breath deep, we got this"... we'll see...

But He does...if He so chooses to smile on me some more...some wrinkles got ironed out that totally amazed me...

oh me of little faith...    :o

Dave! Hey Bud,  this is what you have wanted for a  long time.  Let it happen. Change is always uncomfortable and I pray your transition goes as well as Possible.  I know its easier said than done but it sounds as if you have a  great handle and outlook on things. Ducks are in a row....let em walk.
Relax,

You'll live longer!

Thanks, Charlie.  Headed to bed!

I have another week to press and keep packing. I've not even started on the kitchen and I have a running ton of kitchen stuff...

Too much of everything or too many hobbies perhaps?

Trouble is that the stuff I invested in is way better built, being older, than today's products, so dumping and starting over is not an option!

Getting thru this ordeal here with the "rental mgmt" yahoos will be another level of angst...then counting on all going well enough down there to move in on time!

Funny...no matter how much one works hard or coordinates to their best abilities, in the end, most of the situations in life are totally out of our control!

Maybe that is how God wants it, eh???  :)

Let's send 'em up folks, there's been no greater "prayer warrior" on this site than Dave for many years.  This is the most important forum on this site and he has been an inspiration to hundreds here while going through his own trials.

Thank you, Gentlemen... Those who post and the many I know who do not.

Thru God's grace, I was able to make nice on the phone with my current realty mgmt people about their hoop jumping... Thank you, Lord!

They come Wednesday... the first time...

No word over the weekend on things down in TN, but Lord willing, it will all come together on time!

thank you to each and all for your prayers, strength infused into me thru it, and the kind words I likely do not deserve...but will try to live up to them!

Shalom...

Doc,

I hope the meeting with the realtors went well and you are one step closer to making that move. My brother lives down close to Memphis, lots of deer down there.

Take care of yourself and I am praying for a smooth transition for you.
                                       Good Shooting,

Thanks, Craig.  Things keep getting more and more interesting... all sorts of hiccups on a small sliver of land I negotiated to have added to mine, so as to NOT have my property line run on a diagonal within 19' of the corner of my house... but there is new meat at the local planning board who is upsetting the apple cart.  Getting convoluted.

Galen,

You make me laugh! I used that "don't should on yourself" line in all my Supervisory and Management Development training sessions.

These past few days, everyone seems to be spitting in my Kool-aide and I'm not feeling the love that much...so THANK YOU!

Hey Doc, Still thinking about you and your situation. I hope the waves turn to ripples and eventually smooth out to glass.  Just remember, some of the best fishing is bumpy water.

5 Foot seas, made me queezy but I filled my cooler.   ;)

Praying for the best!

Thanks, ALL!!!

Thursday and Friday were meat grinders, but God listened to ya'll!

Friday ended better.  Got to talk to the movers who are to professionally load our borrowed big box truck, to tie everything together this coming Thursday... they had a neat plan that buoyed my spirits for this Thursday.

Now to get DRY weather... stuff will be in that truck (antique furniture, etc) for several days till removed in TN, so dry would be special!!!

Next, I'd started the process to set up for termination of utilities. The natural gas vendor said they'd come in to turn OFF the fuel. This is a rental and I intended to vacate a full week early to give them time to do much needed upgrades after 7 yrs and no maintenance.  So I call the property mgmt people to suggest they call to put the gas in their name to not lose heat and have to be here to have it turned back on...they try to snow me it has to be maintained till the end of the month.  I pointed out this wasn't my first rodeo and no way was I providing utilities for their workmen to abuse.  My vacating was for their benefit to do work in advance to have the unit ready Nov 1 and they either change the name over to theirs OR..it's turned off inside and they can come sit and wait all day for the workmen to return.  Friday afternoon they called to say they had it set to be put in their name the 24th.

Couple small coups! But I figured the Lord was showing me to walk in faith.  Still don't trust these dogs, but will check on them when I get back to clean to be sure...

Lots of odds and ends sitting around that need my attention yet... but I still have to be here so I hesitate to pack it all... lol

This is where a partner helps that can point out errors in thinking!

Thanks for prayers! Someone up there is listening I think!  :)

Thanks, Keith. You've been a true friend I've never met, along with many others scattered to the four corners of this great land of ours!

The surveying won't happen.  Planning Group is going to make this .13 acre sliver go thru hoops, so we're settling on the original property with a binding contract for the additional to be added No Charge... I want it rolled back into MY deed, not two for such a tiny bit.

Getting it all (this drivel I've accumulated even though I've given away a lot, throw out more and had 2 yard sales) into the box truck will be my next goal! In DRY weather.  :)

I don't want much.   :)  :)

We go down for closing on Friday with a whole 30 min to spare "in case"... and then Sat Noon the truck shows and we unload...one day to unpack essentials, then Monday off to sign up for water and electric (must be done in person there) and then back on the road home to clean up this hovel.

Move out inspection the 24th and then Hasta, Baby!

Likely stay with friends around here and then head out Sat or Sun and start to settle in... get vehicles registered down there, buy washer /dryer, start the UN-packing, find a trash hauler to pick up weekly, etc, etc...find docs and such. I think I'll be busy nuff that first month or so...

Next year?  Shoot, Keith, that starts in just a few short months! LOL... maybe I'll be able to turkey hunt come spring??

Doc, prayers sent daily for all your concerns. I sure hated our moving process 24 years ago, but it sure was worth it!
