Last I heard was that his "day job" and life in general was getting in the way of bow building, so he was not taking orders, until/if he got a partner. Made me pretty sad. I'm glad I got my Smoke when I did, but one of his take-downs was definitely top of my list for future bows. Kent is a good guy and fantastic bowyer. I sure hope that he's able to get going again.

You might try getting a hold of him on his personal Facebook account?

Several months ago he sent my deposit back and said he was not taking any additional orders.  I think I had been on the waiting list a year.  Kent was allways very helpful and wish him the best.

Sorry guys, been meaning to post something. It's been kind of a rough summer. Found out I needed a biopsy right before I left for my bear hunt and then found out that I had prostate cancer after I got back in early June. Since it was the type that could be aggressive I had surgery late last month. That went great, looks like it was contained, had not spread and the recovery is going great. Cancer really puts everything into perspective and made me realize that working full time and building bows just doesn't leave enough time for family. I was already cutting back some but have now decided that I'm either going to try to take on a partner or just build bows as I have time and offer those for sale as they're available. I really appreciate all the support My bows have had from TradGang folks. Not going to quit building bows but at least for now won't be taking any custom orders. Still got a couple orders to fill and we'll see what happens after that. I'll definitely let everyone know if and when that changes. In the meantime, if I do have stock bows available they'll be posted here.
Thanks
Kent

There are 2 bowyers I know of this happening to..

Can't blame them at all.  Providing for family is number one.  Passions come second..

I have wanted one of his bows for a few years, but doesn't look like I will be able to get one.

Wow. You got hit hard. And family is number one. Wish you well in your recovery. I have one of your bows and it is a shooter for sure. Going to hold on to it.
