I think wingshooting with a longbow is one of the most fun types of hunting I have ever done. There is just something about carrying a longbow in the snow and chasing birds. I've yet to get a pheasant this year - (0 for 2) but I got a couple of ducks on the wing over decoys earlier and it was one of the greatest mornings ever. Just another unique opportunity that I love traditional achery for...

P.S. You will just be cheatin yourself if you shoot 'em on the ground - just my .02

I have seen pictures of old duck arrows the American Indians used & most likely the Euro's too, It has a knot near the point to skip the arrow on the top of the water. I need to fine a pic of it.... Has anyone used anything like that, duck hunting?

I believe there was a member on another trad site who shot arrows like that for waterfowl and they seemed to have worked for him...

If it doesn't kill them outright, the dog can bring them back quickly for the coup de grace.
The Scorpios are supposed to be just for aluminums, but I have used them on Gold Tips with no harm. I decided not to take any chances and found some 2016s to make special bird arrows.
