For those of you who have read this on pow wow you are aware. My 6 yo cat, George will be put to sleep today @ 4:35. He's only a cat but I love him so. I had the misfortune of needing blood & iron infusions this spring. I had to go to the cancer treatment center for them. I saw a lot of very ill people & I work in healthcare & have been with people at the end many times. Tell all of the people & pets in your life how special they are. Don't wait. People ask what's wrong with the world now a days? The answer is we have lost our selves to technology. People need interaction with one another on a personal basis. Just make sure those around you know how much they mean before they aren't there to tell. Thanks for listening. We have outstanding folks on this site and I appreciate all of you.

Can't argue that logic, Daniel..

Cats matter.  Personally, not a fan due to allergies and such to them worse then dogs, but...I've seen many to whom their cat was their lifeline to keeping on!

Thank you for serving int he Medical arena...not always pleasant and the current Political climate makes it all the worse for those struggling to get by after a life of commitment to ..well, never mind...  :(

You will survive this and come out stronger for the years that George was there to give to you!

Hang in there and

Keep the Son in your eyes!

Prayers for God's grace

Prayers for you and George.  Pets become family.  They love us unconditionally and are always there for us when we are down.

My pets are my kids too, and losing one or helping one ease out of pain is a truly heart rending experience. Yet it is part of the deal--they give us all that comfort, we give them the care they need when they need it. I work in healthcare, also, and those of us who do are not strangers to suffering. Take good care of yourself, as you always have of your friend George.

My boxer, Sophia, had a litter of 6 pups about a week ago. A few days ago I noticed one of the pups was looking kinda of sickly. I've raised dogs most of my life and I know its not uncommon for a pup or two not to make it, for what ever reason. I don't like it but accept it. I do my best to make sure it doesn't happen but it does. Well, my wife picked up this pup and started bottle feeding it day and night. Even taking it to work to feed it and keeping it warm. After a couple of days I took it to the vet. Not much can be done but gave us some antibiotics and said to continue to do what we have been doing. Well this morning with the saddest eyes my beautiful wife tells me the pup died. With tears in her eyes she wrapped in a little towel and wanted to bury it. Then my 14 yr old started to cry it was a sad morning for sure. Its amazing how these pets can affect our lives even for  a short time. God created us for relationships, humans and animals. I heard or read a comment that when we die and go to heaven that all our pets that we loved come running up to greet us. Not biblical, I know, but a neat and warm visual.

Take care

Gilbert,
I'm such a sucker for pets I tested up just reading your post. My wife could survive without me but my pets depend on me & love me dearly. It goes both ways. Thanks to everyone for sharing. Read some of the other threads on here. Lots of people need our support too. This might be a website but we are a group of individuals who wield a lot of power & energy together.

That quote is from something called "The Rainbow Bridge". I personally believe it IS Biblical.
The Bible says God loves man and animals alike.
It also says Believe in the Lord Jesus Christ and you shall be saved, and ALL your household.
To me that means that the pets of Christians WILL be there to meet them. The pets in my household are held in very high esteem and ARE members of my household. In fact the pecking order is:1)my wife, 2) the pets,3) everything else, 4) me.   :knothead:
God Bless,
Bob

It could not be heaven without our pets. Think about it. Most of us have a closer relationship with our pets because they rely on us for everything. Just a side note. Got home from hunting my in laws property in PA last night & put my boots down stairs like the wife wants. Got up this morning & went to put them on & Georgie's spaz ball was in my boot!!! He loved to drop  it in there & then dive in the boot after it. Who says they aren't still with us. I laughed & cried.
