As often happens it is hard to capture the excitment of the moment with the camera but you can take my word. I was maxed out

Congrats Buff, was the elephant broadside to you when you shot, camera angle looked like he was quartering towards you. I know you said you got 12in of penetration and rib on the kill shot, when you did your testing on the dead elephant you had complete penetration.

No he was pretty much broadside.
I think the deflecting off a rib is what slowed the penetration

Great & very interesting videos, although it would have been nice if you had rolled the dead elephant broadside for a more realistic penetration testing....

I work with a bunch of non hunters (NOT Anti-hunters).  When I showed them the video, and it had the sound with it, a couple of them asked "How did they sneak up on the elephants with all the people chanting and blowing whistles"?.  I just told them "very carefully".
