Pokin fun again
« on: September 28, 2004, 10:45:00 AM »
I shot this little gal while in Jourdanton Thursday,
9-23-04. I was easing along through the brush when I
heard her sniffing. I could see the top of her back
but the brush was shotgun thick and I couldn't get a
shot. I was inside of ten yards of her for about five
minutes. I decided to belly crawl through a hole in
the brush to get a better vantage. As soon as I did
she changed directions and is now facing me at 5
yards. The weeds were tall enough that I crawled
backward to my original position. About then she turns
again, and again I crawl forward. As I clear a bush I
raise up on my knees just as she turns sideways. It
was her last mistake ever. After my ears stopped
ringing from the ardenaline rushing through my head I got my bud Eric Zuniga and
started the track. She went further than Id have
expected but left a blood trail that a blind man could
have followed. It was a fine ending for a hard earned
game animal. The bow was a Thunder Stick 2 and the arrow was 630 grain Ash shaft crowned in Coral Snake skin. 190 Grizzly leading.  Enjoy the pic. Curtis
