I used this title in order to attract those that know what it means. October of 2001 I was on Airport security detail with the National Guard at Stewart Airport here in NY. There were numerous delays one day, and I got to talking to a gentleman who started me on my journey to traditional gear. First, he jokingly asked me why I was wearing his hat, a issue black beret. Seems he was the real deal, and like many, couldnt understand the Amry and their change of uniform. Seems he was a US Marshal, and was headed home to the Carolinas. We got to talking and I expressed how much I wanted to bowhunt, but couldnt due to my obligation.
This led us to equipment specs and he was somewhat dismayed that I believed I could never shoot a stick bow well enough to hunt with.
We talked for a good amount of time, visions of stick bows in my head. He even gave me his contact info(he makes bows) and told me when I was ready, look him up.
Long story short, my wife and I had a fire two years later, and I never got to get in touch with him. He started me thinkng about traditional bowhunting, and wondering if I could get efficient with a stickbow. So much that all it took was a little nudge to go to JLMBH 07. Well since that hunt last year, I havent picked up my wheelie.
I guess Im hoping he is a member here, and that I can find him and say Thanks. Does this guy sound familiar to any of you out there?? Any help would be appreciated.
