Santa delivered my Pittsley Predator today! - Have Picture
« on: December 24, 2007, 03:38:00 PM »
Santa finally delivered my Pittsley Predator Hunter today. Been a week since it shipped and I've been driving my wife crazy waiting on it.

The handle fits me perfectly. One sweet looking and shooting bow. I may have to raise the arrow rest just a bit as I get an occasional fetch hitting my index finger. Don't know yet if it's inconsistent placement/position of the fingers or the rest really needs to be raised. I'll have to watch that. But I'm extremely pleased with the Predator.

Now to build up my shooting muscles to I can shoot it more.        :)

Ah man. I was afraid someone would ask that. I've gotta tell how backward technologically I am as the only cameras I've got are 35mm film cameras.      No digital cameras here except my work cellphone which has a camera but I don't know how to transfer the pictures to a computer. Heck I'm in the Information Technology field and still have a hard time working a fax machine.    :knothead:

Better get my 12 year old niece's help.    :bigsmyl:

LOL, when in doubt, ask a teenager! And hire them quick, while they still know everything!

Merry Christmas!

Congrtats on the new Predator.  Did you get it from Hunter's Niche?  How do you like the fit and feel of the handle/grip.

Thanks VA Bowbender. I got it off that big auction site. It was a pretty good deal that I couldn't pass up. I figured if I liked it I could order a custom one to my liking later. If I didn't like it I wouldn't be out the new price of either but still have a bow to get back into the game.

I like the grip a lot. It's about a perfect fit. Only thing I've done that's not in the pic is put a leather grip saddle on it to keep my hand from slipping. I did that on my old Super Kodiak years ago too so that isn't saying anything bad about the grip.

Need less to say I really like the Predator and am already dreaming of what woods and limbs combination I want for a Custom Predator.

I have been looking at Preator bows, since reading the interview in TBM. Really nice bows, would like to shoot one. Heck I would like to get one myself.  :banghead:

doctari,

The predator is a really nice bow. There was a predator hunter here in the classified on TG and as I recall a custom predator on the ***********/bowsite for sale section.

Yeah I want to read that interview too. Hope my new subscription of TBM starts with that issue. Otherwise I'll have to order a back issue on TBM's website.

That Predator grip puts the arrow right on your hand which can result in feather quills drawing a little blood. I found that left wing fletch eliminated some of that.

These are certainly a quality recurve from the standpoints of performance and looks.

You can say that again. I had blood drawn several times. I tired raising the rest some but still got a finger strike now and then. Don't know exactly what changed but when I started shooting with the canted bow style I haven't had a finger strike even when I lowered the rest to the original height. Knock on wood.    :D

I had feather strike problems too, this also occurred with my Bear Custom TD.  With a slight change in my grip ie. straighter wrist ( better form ) it was cured.
  :knothead:

Now that you have such a GREAT shooting bow I expect to see you enter in the next on-line tourney.

The on-line tourney still has 3 weeks left before a new one can start.  It will probably be more than that.

Your new bow won`t let you down.

I think, once you are tuned, and used to the arrow being so close to your hand, the flecthing contact problem will simply dissappear.

Happy shooting, and congratulations.

Yall are making me jealous with those customs.

Yellow Dog what woods are in your risers? The first one Kinda looks like what I'm thinking about. Ebony grip with Bolivian Rosewood fadouts with maybe maple / bubinga or purpleheart accent strips. If Rons offers it, maybe yew veneers with clear glass on the limbs.
