I agree about the kids, and even better, most of the time my Dad and Brother are together with me there also.

HEY kill deer Is that A cabelas tent I have the same one sure is comfortble,kind of tricky too put by myself but once its up it aint coming down.I have the 8 man or woman model.

I've posted this pic several times but this is my cabin in West TN on about 60 acres. I bought the place in 1984. I had a little help building the little cabin the following Spring--no electricity at the time so we built it with a generator. This place helped my keep my sanity during my police career.

Here is a scanned pic of the site where I built the cabin. My hunting friend Richard gave of his time to help my get the cabin up and dried in. I was Richard's pallbearer several years ago. I have a trail named after him on the property. I constantly wonder how families can just up and sell their family farms without hesitation knowing the sacrifices made by generations before them.

Is that an A-Liner Richard had? A friend like that makes the camp more precious, and the time in it that remains to us all the more dear. I can only imagine what it must be like to walk his trail.

Joe, that is the 8-man Alaskan Guide. Ya walk around a lot setting it up by yourself, that's for sure! I forget how many seasons it has had up there, plus a couple warm-weather outings. Does it rain in your vestibule, too? Haven't figured out how to keep condensation from building up in there yet. Tent is cozy, though.

This is a cabin that is under still construction. But its insulated and weather tight and has a wood stove. I have to pack in everything to it on a trail I built as it is not truck accessible and a couple of miles in from where I can park. And yes I packed in all the supplies and built it using my dewalts & chain saw. Its located on about 20 acres that I chose and staked. Sits above the base of the Alaska Range and has endured 4 moose/caribou seasons and the local grizz population so far. Now if I can only draw a sheep tag for that area as it sits in the TMA (trophy area)and about a1 1/2 miles from where they hang out.

A late september spike camp in the fall of 2006. We were a bunch of miles up the chisana hunting.

Killdear I dont have the vestibule yet should get one though,pretty darn good tent no complaints. I left it up for a month in november down at my camp by chillicothe,ohio and had no problems. Went back in mid-dec for a week and was just fine in it. I do think I'm gonna get A big piece of carpet for the floor..

Our little hunting cabin. My son and I built this hunting cabin in 2003 from 6"x8" logs that were squared-up on a friend's sawmill. I had local Amish craftsmen custom build the windows and also custom cut and press the ribbed steel roofing panels for me (very inexpensively). It is small, has no power, no running water, and no phones. My idea of perfect.
