Kevin asked me to post this picture for him - he still needs Photobucket lessons. I don't know who made this - I'm sure Kevin will chime in to explain, but it sure is gorgeous!

Thanks, Joe! The fantastic quilt above was stitched and donated by Janet Judson. She has donated quilts to PBS banquets in the past and I must say, they do very well at the auctions! I hope the right 2 or 3 women want this one, it is truly a work of art. Thank you so very much, Janet!

Here are a few pictures of the donated bow I just shipped to Pittsburg for the convention:
Specifications fir the bow are: Osage selfbow, Righthanded, 58# @ 28”, 60” nock to nock, Big Horn Sheep Horn tip overlays, and Python snakeskin backing.

The broadhead used, regardless of how sharp, is nowhere as important as being able to place it in the correct spot.

Very, very nice work Mr. Francis. I had just noticed that the PBS web site has your donation listed as "Self Bow" Somehow I knew that was a bit understated.

FYI, a correction on one of our great donations:
instead of a recurve bow from Northwind Traditional Archery, Gerry Feigl will be donating a beautiful handmade bamboo flyrod. It is a 7 1/2 foot 4/5 weight.
Thanks again, Gerry!

Walt, That has to be one of the prettiest bows I've seen
Plus it has just the right camo for spring black bears. This could be a very expensive weekend...Doc

That sure is a beauty Walt!
On my glass bows I pull about 29". Just theoretically, if the auctioneer somehow got confused if a guy in the crowd was scratching his nose, do ya think that bow might handle an extra bit of draw length?

FYI, in my excited haste to post another great donation item, I incorrectly described the bolo tie that Brian Tessman has made and donated: instead of just plain old "antler", it is crafted from fossilized walrus tusk, with a scrimshaw "pictograph" artwork, braided leather cord with walrus teeth accents.
Still, I know Brian's work and this will be PRIMO!
Thanks again, Brian!

This just in...an original book, "Sagittarius" by Bob Swinehart. This book is graciously donated by Dennis Scicchitano.
Thanks Dennis! That is awesome!

Joe, in the picture of me at full draw the bow is drawn to 28 1/2". I always overdraw a bow then let down about an inch, so the first three or four hundred times I drew this bow it went to around 29 1/2". I don't think it will have any problem handling 29". The python snakeskin is really thick, in fact thicker then the antelope rawhide I normally use when backing a bow.
