OK, I have my eye on that Doug Campbell knife.  It will probably cost me my "first born" at the auction, but I'm thing about it.  I bid on the knife he donated for the banquet in Utah, but I needed at least a little money to get home, so someone else got it.
Just took another look at the PBS web site and the list of donations, and I would be surprised if this the end of them.  This list is growing every day!  Totally unbelievable!  The members have really come through.
Can't believe it is 34 days, and counting!
See you there!

Steve, I just got an email from Doug last night.  He sent a pic of the knife.  AWESOME!  He is working on the sheath and will be sending it to Dennis Filippelli "for your bidding enjoyment" very soon!

I'm afraid this knife is going to cost enough to test a good marriage! And I'd probably be in less trouble if I brought home another woman, but I'm thinking.
Thanks guys!

My wife just looked at that knife and said "Wow, that's cool."  She wished you guys good luck but did not authorize me to bid   :banghead:

But I still can't wait to see it in person.  Great work Doug!

Ron, this knife is looking for a good home with a loving family...
Steve, it's only money...
You can make more money, might not see a knife like this for quite awhile.  Doug might like Hawaii so much he won't come back to Montana!  I'll still come and visit Doug!

That is a pretty knife, wonder if I will have to pay as much for this one as I did for his knife in Salt Lake?
The broadhead used, regardless of how sharp, is nowhere as important as being able to place it in the correct spot.

Walt,

You were bidding against me, at least part of the time!  It got too rich for my blood (and wallet).  See you in Pittsburgh!

I thought the Salt Lake knife was going to come home with me but I never got a chance to get my hand up before it was out of my league. I will be better prepared this time.  ;)

Steve, I was surprised I got it for that price, Kevin was a little intox… uhm I mean loosened up at San Antonio  and I think he paid quite a bit more for his then I did for mine.  I barely got started bidding on that one before it was too high for me.

Jeff, like you, I have a couple of Doug’s knives, even built one myself under his tutelage, but like nice bows you can’t have too many  .  Now if one of your knives were to go up for auction, I’d have to save some of my money for that rather then Doug’s; yours are harder for us Montanan’s to acquire.

Walt, I prefer to call it "restraint challenged".  My wife wishes they would cut me off before the auctions...ah, what the heck. It's only money and for a great cause.
Cool looking knife in your avatar, tippit!  That almost looks like contraband Mongol Ibex horn on yours, too!
