I was in a local craft store the other day and noticed bamboo pieces about 6' long for sale. These were about 1 1/2 - 2 " in diameter. Could they be cut down to be used for backing? I think they were less than $10 each.

I don't think all types of Boo are good for bows, I know Bowyers use a certin type of Bamboo.

You will have trouble with bamboo that small. Most used for backing is 6 - 8" in diameter.
