Trad shooting and events in Missouri

Happy New Year to all:
Will be coming to Missouri this year and while the wife plays with her grandkids I'd like to find some trad shooting, or maybe a trad event to get in to. I know nothing about the state or possible activities. My schedule is flexible and we'll be in the Columbia area. I'm open for about anything so you Missouri shooters let me know what's going on when and where.
Thanks

Go to MOJAM...it will be some of the best fun you ever had. I don't know the dates...usually July. It is a self bow Jamboree and they will make bows, knapp arrow heads etc and shoot bows from Thursday to Sunday.
MOJAM is held in Marshall...not too far from Columbia. In 2007 it was July 20-22...you can check here periodically for up dates of the 2008 dates:

Achilles, Please keep us posted on the rabbit hunt. I missed it last year and hope I can make it this year. How about another Hog hunt. I met you there last year.

macbow: This would just be for a visit. Dates are flexible so if there is something interesting archery-wise I would time the trip around it.
countrygirl: Thanks for the reminder about MOAJM.A few friends go every year.
Achilles: A rabbit hunt sounds good too. Dates?
Anyone else, and Thanks to those who have responded.

What are the details on your hunt? What is the cost? Private land or public?
Thanks

If I'm available when your in Columbia I'd be happy to show you what's up for trad during that time. If nothing is happening, I'll take you to the woods for stump shooting or whatever game is open at the time. Which could include some bow fishing depending on the time of year.
Your humble servant.
God bless,Mudd

My deepest thanks to all of you for your information and offers. I will be trying this month to get the kids to commit to some dates. I will get back to all of you when I get the dates confirmed and see what works out.
Thank You again for your offers. This is why I love traditional archery, the people.

I hosted the hog hunt last year in SEMO. I am game again if everyone else wants to give it another shot. Buddy saw hogs during deer season and got one with his rifle....
We did not manage to get any hogs last year, but I think a good time was had by all.
thanks

My buddy shot a hog at the lake during deer season. He had a group of @25 run past him. He saw another one also. They are still there.....just about like last year.
The rabbit hunt at the same place down south or by Sikeston??? PM when you can about the south/swamp rabbit place....been there twice this year. Before I give out directions.
thanks

Mudd, The next time you feel like going bowfishing let me know and I'll see if we can hook up. I have an aluminum bass boat with a prop motor that will go on some of the shallow local rivers. Mark
