She's a rock hound so I expect that what it is. That isn't the road in front of her but very loose clay type soil the nothing grows in because of the constant heaving. Apparently there is so much expansion and contraction when wet or dry it's constantly moving. Very interesting country and unbelievably greasy when it rains.

Heading out yesterday afternoon I had to circle up over what we call the Buffalo Jump with an incredible view up the valley. It was a little hazy but the fall colors are really starting to come in.

No mountains, but lots of corn and milo here in Kansas.

October 2, 2004 - MY opening morning here in Indiana.

A scary sharp Ribtek 145 waiting for some work in the Autumn Woods.  He almost got it but the deer always seem to make the right moves  :)

This thread is great! I love looking at these photo's, all of em, but DC's are just about pic's of Heaven to those of us who, and I believe they are many like myself, who desire to see it for ourselve's! God's handiwork is evident everywhere we turn but Montana is truly one of his many masterpiece's. How could anyone doubt his existence? How else could all this beauty be? Keep em coming Doug. We truly enjoy them!

Can you see the Ptarmigin? I ran into quite a few and it's amazing how they blend in. Turn your head and they're gone. Take a step and they start to purr and right in front of your eyes you now see three of them. I took a photo of this guy at about 5 feet laying on my belly. I have another photo I took and I can't even see the bird in it??

Here's looking down the Mission Creek valley just a few miles west of us. This is where I've been doing a little bear and doe hunting. My buddy owns the ranch down in the bottom next to the creek. There's probably 20 deer running around in this pic if you could see em.   They are quite a bit lower than us so the fall colors are just beginning to come in.
