Glen your killing me! I am going hunting in 2006 in OZ with Bill Baker and having to waite really drives me nuts and then you put up all of these pictures of hogs and chital. Keep posting them though because the anticipation is part of the fun! Going to Africa next summer and have been watching videos of hunting there for the last 2 years
Looks like you are having fun, Joseph

Joseph, I would like you to believe that I put in a good stalk on the chital to take that photo but in actual fact the photo was taken at Billy Bakers last April from the hunters lodgings. They were walking off the basalt wall to their night feeding areas, that is less than a quater of of the chital that came across. Its good sitting there having a drink and watching the chital. You will really enjoy hunting the Chital and Baslat Warriors...Glenn...

Glenn
I dont know if you remember but I chatted with you in Michigan at the Longbow shoot several years ago about hunting buffalo in Oz. Well, I finally made the jump-I'll be hunting the NT for 3 weeks this coming spring/summer for buff, pig, and whatever else gets in the front! I'm pumped up, this should be a blast.

Saw nothing to shoot today. But did get close enough for a couple of digital shots of something many never get to see. Hope they turn out and you enjoy this piece of nature. Ralph

Ken, these are the White Cranes that shut down all hunting areas on Quivira National Wildlife Refuge, which is located about 300 yards west of where they are standing. Whoopers seem to really enjoy dining on brand new wheat. So they are in a Kansas grain field. I'll have to reduce the pics more to get the elephants on here. Ha. Ralph

I do remember you Ryan, you will enjoy hunting in the N.T. I have never hunted buffalo myself, just the pig hunting alone would be worth the trip up there. Good luck with the buffalo, I know you will really enjoy the trip...Glenn...

A "Basalt Warrior" the pigs of the basalt are some of the toughest I have ever hunted and I have been hunting pigs with a bow for over thirty years now and they really do earn the reputation of "Warriors", treat one with the slightest bit of disrespect and you will pay for it. Sorry it isin't a better photo, I now know not to hold the pigs ear for future photos...Glenn...

This is one of two different bears I saw this morning, both within 15 minutes of each other, along with two deer that the first bear spooked. This is the third bear I see the last two times I have hunted this stand.

I passed on one two days ago at five yards, now two this morning. One of them is going to get shot soon, they've actually spooked deer twice on me now.
