Went out this morning and the sun was just starting to hit Shell Mtn to the west. My pics never do it justice but I just had to go get the camera anyway. Looking out my front door.   .

Love the photos of the snow, I have never seen snow in my life, couldn't imagine what it would be like hunting in snow.
Marco the bow is one I made, I used a wooden shaft and a 100 grain Tusker Spirit broadhead...Glenn...

Glenn....great pics from down under...thanks.  Yep, The Paradise is hog Paradise....in 03 we actually had TOO MANY hogs on the property, I was seeing them at High Noon mid summer pushing 100 degrees.

Last year they we a bit thin...but the population right not looks to be about right, but I expect more to pile in as the acorns are now starting to really fall.

Terry one of the best times to hunt pigs in Australia is in the dry season when most of the water has dried up and the pigs are more concentrated. The heat is opressive and it does force the pigs to water but making the effort in that heat to go hunting is hard yakka.
Years ago I before I was a bowhunter I took my pig dog for walk after some pigs in the heat of the day, walked for miles and didn't see a thing, on the way back to the car I struck a big boar in a wallow and the dog ran straight down to the water and plonked himself in the water adjacent to the boar and didn't move (wasn't well trained at this stage) too bloody hot for him to go chasing pig he reckons, the boar just looked for a few seconds, couldn't believe his luck and took off at high speed.

Cool story Glenn.

Now get this...I was seeing the at high noon in the food plots and crossing the roads...not just lying up in the cool wet spots.  We were basicaly infested with em.

Terry it's good when pigs are in high numbers but there is such a thing as too many, I have seen them like that out here when lambing season is on in Central Queensland, you can see pigs in the middle of the day in their hundreds sometimes killing the lambs and lambing ewes in the middle of the day. A station manager many years ago took me down to the lambing paddock and all you could see were pigs killing sheep, that afternoon he poisoned six sheep and in the morning there were three hundred dead pigs in the paddock, I think a lot of that sort of pig activity through the day has a lot to do with the moon phases as well as the high pig numbers. Around the full moon pigs are very hard to find in daylight hours as they tend to camp up before first light especially if there are a lot of dingoes in the area. I love hunting pigs with the bow, next time I'm in the States maybe next year I am going to try and do a bit of pig hunting...Glenn...

We don't have any mountains down here but we do have some nice looking creeks. This one is a great spot to intercept deer crossing. Right where the two sand bars come together.

Here's a close up of that crossing from one sand bar to the other. I took this picture last season.

This ole boy was about 45 minutes behind them. It's a ways from the truck.  Took me 2 hours to pack him out, after pictures, video and fieldquartering.
