This is what many hunters in the North Cascades of Oregon see when out and about. This is also view of Mt Hood from our house looking east.

TK, that's an excellent picture man.  Well done.

Stan, I dig yours too.

So... when does this thread break off to a new one? LOL.... thinking first of the year?

Like everyone else I really enjoy this thread - -stories and pics.
(I gotta start bringing a digital camera with me....)

This is just an observation (and a late one since I'm just now catching up from the last several days away) but I found the comments about the national christmas tree stump interesting.  My initial reaction was pretty much the same as Killdeer's:

But then it made me realize that is the EXACT response my wife has when I bring home a deer or comment on how beautiful one is in a magazine, on TV, etc....

So instead I'll just think of that tree as "going out in style" - hope they make sopmething nice with the wood.

Now I'm gonna have that Disney "Circle of Life" song in my head for days    :knothead:

Sorry for the off-subject post - just made me think....

Is this what they mean by bowfishing?

I cary about 25' of string with a rubber coated trebble hook in my pack. I use it for bow fishing, hat fishing, arm guard fishing etc.

Dang, I thought it was a tulip poplar. What I know about forestry most guys would clean out from under their fingernails...
That IS poison ivy, tho'!!

Also, I think if I had a view from my house like Treekiller's, my head would explode! Hubble would pick up images of my grin, teef a-gleaming like unto the stars, spinning crazily off into the vast recesses of the infinite universe.

Sorry Bern, dunno how that lie got in there either. (See ApplePie's thread on caring for bows).

Killdeer~beaded and fringed, roaming the wilds of Virginia's "Middle Ground", free and unfettered, hair blowing grandly behind her in a streaming, shining banner. Forever young, forever proud, a Goddess.
Long, long afterward, in an oak I found the arrow, still unbroke;
And the song, from beginning to end, I found again in the heart of a friend.

Killdeer, thats just what I thought....good gosh   :scared:  LOOK at that poison ivy vine on that tree.  Makes me itch just sittin' here.

Bear, my friend, stay away from those "hairy" lookin vines, unless you're lucky enough to not be allergic to it.  How's yer season going?  Any chance you could get over this way after Christmas?  Hope you're doing well.

What, Kyle? The poplar tree or the "free and unfettered" part?

Killdeer~image is everything~wispy wild woodland wraith.

Oh. I wanna T-shirt. Just copy and paste this onto the other thread.  "[tunglaff]"
