Great job Whip.  I like how you have the doe positioned for the picture.  Chad

If ya'll remember my post about falling from a ladderstand earlier this year whle moving it;

I moved it up to a spot with muscadines and persimmons on the edge of a clearcut. I've been waiting for a south wind to hunt it and got one yesterday. I had 6 does and two decent bucks broadside, witin 15 yards in the span of 2 hours. GREAT spot!
It's early in the season, I'm not ready to educate them to that tree just yet.......stay tuned...

Way to go Whip. A little more exciting/nerve wracking than shooting one out of a tree isn't it?

Mark, beautiful pics, the second one down is my new wallpaper. Thanks

 Very tasty! I shot this deer on opening day with a bow I got from RC. Bob Lee 52#@28,55/60 cedars, 160 grain Snuffers. I used Dead Down Wind scent eliminator which has been the best I've used so far.
Just one more step please!

Arwin,
Congrats on that opening day baldy!  Took my son out last night for our first hunt of the year.  Saw 2 squirrels, 2 coons, and one deer.  It didn't wander down our trail to the oak ridge we were "guarding".  Maybe tonight- a bit warm, but better than sitting at home!

Way to go Whip!  Getting a deer from the ground is cool.  I've done it twice, but with the compound at 30 yds.  This is my first year hunting with trad gear and a deer from the ground is my goal.  10 yds - that's great!  I got a doe last weekend w/ a 3pc take down longbow I made myself, so now I'm ready for the ground!!  Might need a ghillie suit.

Had another great evening.  A buddy and I climbed up in a red oak next to an alfalfa field.  We have both tagged out on our bucks and the plan was to video a doe harvest.  After losing the rock, paper, scissors I found myself holding the camera.  About 7 a doe walked by.  He drilled her and she ran up and fell being the truck at the barn.  Then a very nice 9 point walked directly under us.  Then he took the camera and I picked up my bow.  Had a doe walk in right about 7:35 and I drilled her at 20 yards right about the same spot that he had shot his.

Thanks Richie, got her 5 years ago for $500 off that big auction site.  Best buy I've ever made. It had one little ding in the lamination that had been repaired.  Shoots like a dream.
