C-Biskit is buildin a bow...(now finished)
« on: January 02, 2005, 04:59:00 PM »
This is my Godson, Christopher Harrison...most of you know him.

THis is him penciling out his stave...

It took him all of 20 minutes to chase the ring on the back. I figured that was a sign from God that he was doing what he should be doing. (   :)   )

Here is with the thing cut out...

Now, since we are going for a tiny sinew backed pony bow style, we decided to divert our attention to pounding sinews.

...gosh this is hard.

5 buffalo sinews outta do it...Thanks to our buddy Doug Campbell...we have some Montana (hands over your hearts) Buffalo sinew laying around.

now we gotta shred em...lots of work. I dont think he realized how much. I think I will tell him to do a couple extras while he is at it. He is young and all. haha.

We still have to heat bend in a little R/D ala Jim Ham when we get the chance.

We are going for a bendy handled semi r/d sinew/snake backed osage pony bow.

short, thin, cool bow.

should make a nice lttle bow. This guy has more talent in his little finger than I have in my whole body. I reckon he will do fine.   :D

We will hope to do a bit more next sunday.

Terry, my son and Chad were the same way when chasing a ring..the little whipper snappers. Must have something to do with young eyes!

so Chris has the belly reduced, cut in some pin nocks. This is gonna be a neat little bow.

Mickey, he doesnt like beer. I suspect he wont need much help tillering.

Tim, yup, that is right. the head seems to have a nice shape to it, isnt too hard on the sinews.

Lee, I dont need to ask permission anymore. Although, it is a pain in the butt to clean up all the time.  :)
...gosh this is hard.

Calvin,
I've been married 3 times, and raised my own  daughter , drank beer and ran power tools, built my house from scratch. But I've never pounded sinew in the living room. So sir I honestly have to proclaim you my "hero".

BTW my daughter is 32 and has 3 wonderful children, hope you are blessed with the same.
